Car description

1959 Mercury Monterey Cruiser 2 door hard top. Car is all original. Looks to have all original paint. 383 2 barrel engine bone stock under the hood all parts present. Automatic transmission. All original interior.
A one family owned car since about '61, car from small town Nebraska. Father passed and I bought from the estate.
Odometer reads 95K plus miles. Looks to have power steering and brakes. Has am radio in a very unique dash.
About 2 years ago the family had the automatic transmission rebuilt. Went through the brakes, gas system with cleaned tank, new radiator and complete tune up. He did drive it into town. That was a couple years ago. I think it needs some more tweaking and the carb needs rebuilt. Wont start. I will attempt to get it running. But plan on towing it home.
The glass is all very good. The windows roll down effortlessly. The trim, stainless, and chrome are all above average. The interiors front seat is under plastic. Old plastic. The carpet is there but needs replaced. The door panels are excellent. Nice dash gauges the dash pad is shot. The headliner is there. No rodent infestation that I can see or smell.
The body is real straight. There is rust down low. See pictures. The trunk floor is about 50% solid. Top of passenger fender has rust. The interior floors from what I can see look good. Tires are junk. all the original wheel covers are there. Tail lights need attention / replaced.
This car is being sold as a project. Looks to be a simple restoration because you don't have to hunt down a lot of parts. Everything seems to be there! It ran good two to three years ago.
This is a car you don't see very often. Have something different at car shows next spring. I have a dealer license, Superior Auto 4521 South 88th in Omaha. I'm by myself and love finding cars like this. I'm a Mopar guy. This isn't my cup of tea. But it sure is cool! I don't think I've ever seen one!
Bid what you'll pay. I'd like to let the auction run. It is NO RESERVE! The high bidder will get it! If you have negative EBAY feed back or under 5 feedbacks rating, call me prior to bidding or I will cancel your bid. The car is sold as is. I DO have a title for it!
Thanks and happy bidding! Any questions? Call me at 402 733 7760 Bernie

To answer a few questions...Yes It has a Nebraska Clear title.
I have a 1966 registration I just found under the seat! This car ran and drove real well two to three years ago.
Transmission was FULLY REBUILT about two to three years ago. Brakes, fuel system, including the gas tank, radiator all were redone.
This car WILL CLEAN UP!
The dash gauges and chromed areas, with some chrome cleaner rag and q tips would look great!
The dash pad needs to be removed and replaced or just cleaned up once removed. I do not know what the seat looks like under the plastic. If I get time I'll pull that plastic off.
I truly believe if you spend some time tuning her back up again, rebuild the carb, install some new tires, and a good cleaning you can have a real nice vintage driver.
People seem to love the "Patina" look. A buffer taken to the paint would make it a different car! This is a diamond in the rough. Needless to say once all these things are done, it will still have rust as the pictures show. But it's not God Awful terrible!
very unique car. Just invision what it could look like with some time spent on her! Thanks for reading! Keep bidding!

Please look at those front door panels. I used cleaner and brush to scrub them on both sides. Look how beautiful it looks! If some more time, in which I don't have, were spent on the rest of the car just think of the outcome as a driver to shows next spring you would have!

Update! I spent some time on the car today. The points weren't opening and I replaced a battery cable to the Starter solenoid and she fired off. Sounds great! No knocking no lifter noise. No blue smoke from what I could see. Tight solid engine from what I hear as she idles. So as of now the car is running and drives around my parking lot. The tires are real bad and the battery is bad too. I'm going to get another battery for it. This should stimulate some more interest in it hopefully. Thanks for reading. Keep the bids coming! New battery today! $125.00! Fires up every time now. Haven't driven it. We got some snow. Right rear tire holds air about a day! I'll look into that. Took the plastic off the front seat. It was old dirty and brittle anyway. The seat material looks good. Not tore up terribly or beat up. Just real aged. I'd get new carpet and just scrub the dickens out of the rest of it if I were to keep it. Car has sat for a long time. Keep the bids coming! Thanks!
