Car description

Close your eyes and imagine the perfect custom-built hot rod. It starts with a 1948 Ford convertible body...Wait, no... A more rare, and more premium Mercury version. Then add a full custom paint job with candy-coated flames. Give it a modern Mustang interior, A/C, Camaro chassis, and a performance-built ZZ4 crate motor, and you realize that you don't have to imagine this amazing package, because it's right in front of you! We've all seen cool custom cars with fire painted down the side, but what happens when the whole convertible is turned into a flame? Well, for starters, it causes a stir wherever it goes. The white hot flame at the front fades into yellow, and it all boarders the red with a steely-blue finishing touch. There were some great details from Mercury that made this convertible destine for hot rod royalty. This includes the intricate chrome front and rear bumpers, plenty of bright trim, and the cool wraparound taillights. Having these factory elements in place combined with custom pieces like the paint, lowered suspension, and shiny Halibrand 15-inch wheels give this drop top an undeniable presence everywhere from the cruise-in to the car show.Step inside, and everything feels quite a bit more modern than a car from the 40s. That's because this full custom build adapted the interior from a Mustang that's half a century younger. So now the leather seats give the kind of modern bolstering and comfort that can let you cruise around all day. From behind the Lecarra sports steering wheel you see the familiar gauge package from a Mustang, but with an interesting twist. The full readouts are white-faced like the high-performance SVT cars, but it has red markings and yellow limiters so that these colors match the exterior flame paint. Because this is a premium custom build, you get plenty of luxury features such as power windows, power locks, power seats, and a power convertible top. And since everyone will want to go for a ride with the top down, you get an AM/FM/CD stereo that can be heard over the wind in your hair. Plus, the ice-cold air conditioning means you can look cool and stay cool, too, in this ragtop.Look under the hood and be amazed. With the polished valve covers, water pump, compressor, alternator, intake, air cleaner, and Griffin radiator, we pretty much dare you to find another component that could be turned into brightwork. But when you look beyond the shine, you're going to see some serious performance. It's a GM 350+ hp ZZ4 crate motor. The 350 cubic-inch V8 was blueprinted and balanced by Mcbetts Racing. Add to that other goodies like a Holley 750 CFM carburetor and a rumbling dual exhaust, and you've got one ferocious package. But this full build goes well beyond just the motor. The front subframe was borrowed from a 1967 Camaro, so that means an independent front suspension and front disc brakes that drives very nice. Add to that features like an automatic transmission and power steering, and this is the perfect anytime/anywhere cruiser.Mercury produced less than 7,600 of these convertibles. That was over 65 years ago, so you'll be hard-pressed to find another survivor, and likely impossible to find one that looks this good and is turnkey ready for fun. Call today!!
