Car description

1988 Mercedes-Benz 420 SEL NO RESERVE!Relisted due to sale fail. Previous buyer made a 'mistake'. Please do not bid if you don't intend to buy.
This auction is for a 1988 Mercedes 420 SEL in metallic 'smoke silver'.This car runs great and drives great. Starts right up and settles in around 700rpm. The steering is tight and the ride is smooth.Tires were new a couple of years ago, They still have lots of tread (see pics). The exterior is ding/dent free but does have some minor scratches. However, the paint looks good. There is a spot on the hood where the clear coat is worn. I tried to get a picture of it, but you have to look to find it. Otherwise a great looking classic Mercedes that still turns heads.Everything works fine. The AC is icy cold and the heat will blast you out if you turn it up. The alarm system is kaput. It got so sensitive that I had my mechanic pull the module. The radio/stereo works fine although the driver side door speaker decided to stop working about a month ago. I assume a loose wire, but it didn't bother me so I didn't bother it.The four shiny chrome wheels look good, but the left front has some rash. Again, easy to spot if you're looking for it.The trunk is huge. The back seat is cavernous. The leather is in great shape with normal aging except for some wear near the drivers side left hip. It's an old car. Don't expect perfection and you'll love it. It's been a great daily driver for me for the past 5 years. We're moving and losing some garage space so this one has to go.I'm asking $3000, which I think is a great price for what you're getting. The car is offered at NO RESERVE so it might go for less, it might go for more. This car has a clean Washington State title which I am ready to sign over to you. Please don't bid if you're not serious in following through with a purchase. This car is sold AS IS, WHERE IS. If you want to take a look before the auction ends, please contact me and we'll make an appointment. Otherwise, once the auction ends, it's yours whether you've inspected it or not.Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I'll help where I can and can store it for up to 10 days, but after that, it's going on to the street. We're moving and I can't take it with me.$500 down when the auction ends.Full payment within 7 Days of auction end. Cashiers check or cash in hand. Thanks for looking!
