Car description

In the '90s, the heaviest of heavy-hitters was the Mercedes-Benz S-class, with the dramatic 560 SEL sedan at the top of the hierarchy. Luxury machines like this very attractive Bronze 1990 (the final year of the venerable W126 generation) example could hammer the Autobahn all day at triple-digit speeds, all whilst coddling their occupants like no other car in the world. For a car with an original cost that's the equivalent of almost $150,000 today, this is a great way to get incredible luxury at an incredible discount. If you want the ultimate in vintage luxury, it's a simple decision to choose ''The best or nothing''.Few cars have a more commanding road presence than an S-class Mercedes, and you'll have no trouble cruising through traffic with this handsome 4-door sedan. Still wearing it factory-original bronze brown paint and looking nothing short of remarkable for a vehicle of this age, it goes to show you what the best paint in the world can deliver. It's simply held up better than any paint ever could in the 30 years and 243,000 miles since it was born, and that's what you get when you make the life-altering decision to buy a Mercedes-Benz. Even though there is 243,000 miles on the body the car was impeccably maintained by a Mercedes trained engineer/Mechanic for the last 20 years of ots life who's shop meticulously rebuilt the power train only 53,000 miles ago and I have all that documentation, and every facet of this car is in 100% operational condition according to Mercedes OEM Soecs. All the gaps and seams are near perfect, and even though the finish has acquired a few light scratches and some of the clear coat is peeling on the roof and hoo, here and there, this Benz still shows incredibly well. The big sedan has style in spades, with a formal profile and sleek lines and aggressive window tint that was newly installed that definitely announce that this big Benz takes no prisoners. In typical German fashion, the design is restrained and the clean lines minimize the car's size, but there's no denying that this is a lot of sheet metal hammering down the road. A few bits of chrome shine up great, like the surrounds for the window openings, and the contrast emphasizes the car's best attributes. And of course, there's just no mistaking the big 3-pointed star up front that moves lesser traffic out of the way like a snow plow. Inside, the S-class got every luxury and convenience item Mercedes engineers could imagine in 1990. Power heated beige leather buckets are firm and supportive and in shockingly great condition considering the age on this heavy cruiser. Gorgeous door panels feature different materials and shapes that helped Mercedes break out of its cold, impersonal interior look that plagued it decades before, and the burled walnut throughout the cabin warms up everything nicely. Big, clear instruments are similar to those Mercedes always offered, and there's a massive stereo system featuring an aftermarket Kenwood AM/FM/Cassette/CD blue tooth and usb input and speakers fitted throughout the interior. Heated power seats, an electronically adjustable steering wheel, electric sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows and locks, and a giant trunk are all included, making this a first-class luxury liner with enough creature comforts to appease even spoiled Millennials. The 5.6 liter V8 under the hood is one of Mercedes' most reliable units, capable of running for hundreds of thousands of miles with little more than basic maintenance. Torquey and smooth, it moves the big sedan with the effortless ease of an electric motor, and the relentless push of torque makes it feel like it could accelerate forever. Beautifully maintained (and yes, we have the maintenance records to prove it), the engine bay is nearly spotless (another reason we're leaning toward those miles and the rebuild as being original and autrhenti, from the big aluminum air cleaner lid to all the hoses and wires that comprise what was, at the time, the world's most technically advanced automobile. Obviously, the previous owners loved this Mercedes like a member of the family and the maintenance and low mileage on the power train means that it's still bulletproof reliable today. It's the same deal underneath, where there's a 4-speed automatic with beautifully smooth shifts and a fully independent suspension that soaks up bumps like a hovercraft. Classic Mercedes-Benz slotted alloys will be included in the auction with trire tread at 80% left as the AMG wheels on the some of the pictures will not be included and will be used for my other 560 sec as I love these cars! First-class accommodations and a ton of luxury for the price of a used Hyundai and this Mercedes Flagship Sedan will turn heads and get attention and you can have it here with a NO RESERVE auction and the highest bidder will win her.
