Car description

---------------------------------------------------------------------
We have a great Mercedes Benz 300D for sale that has been well maintained that is in good shape inside and out (for its age). This is not a show car, but If you want a safe, reliable car that has many more years on it, then this one is for you. We have owned and loved this car for 7 years, but we never drive this and are lightening our load.
The Good:
  • The car runs and drives great. You could buy this and drive it home.
  • There is a new(ish) transmission with probably about 10,000 miles on. It shifts smooth and there is no jerking.
  • New front end
  • Good tires with very few miles on them
  • brakes still have 10K miles left (according to mechanic)
  • New battery with 1.5 years left on the warranty
  • Heat works
  • All windows, sun roof and Antenna work
  • All components in the AC are new and system is rebuilt, from the compressor to the interior panel/buttons
  • New high amperage alternator,a Bosch model al129x at 120 amps output as compared to only 65 amps for the original alternator.
  • Engine has high Compression and recent valve adjustment
  • This car doesn't smoke and passed AZ emissions with flying colors
  • has original jack and good spare
  • No major rust or cancer
The not so good:
  • There is a bug in the vacuumsystem and locks need to be locked manually, which is annoying
  • The driver's side lock is different than the other door, ignition and trunk. My mechanic suggested swapping the locks
  • The car is in need of a paint job. There is peeling clear coat, some sort of sealant on the bottom quarter of the car
  • There some rust spots on the back driver's side quarter panel
  • The back right light lens is cracked (but it has been epoxied together)
  • Slight cracking on the dash (less than most cars of this level)
  • Small tear in the drivers side seat
  • the odometer stopped working when the transmission was replaced, it reads 233K, it it is definitely more

Neither good nor bad/other:
  • Original Blaupunkt stereo
I will be adding documentation for the work we have done shortly.
The bottom line is that this car is in solid mechanical shape, but doesn't look great. It would be a great daily driver. My mechanic says that "it is worth painting".
I will stand by the quality and value of this car. If you are interested, I am happy to provide my mechanic's number, as he knows all the ins and outs and quirks of the car. Also, I would be happy to take it to another mechanic, of your choosing, in the Phoenix area.

Feel free to request any specific pictures or come see it anytime in sunny Phoenix, AZ :). Priced with a rock bottom start price and reserve less than the car's value.
THANKS FOR LOOKING!
