1981 mercedes 380 sl roadster with factory hardtop , super low mileage

Very low mileage and babied 380sl. The mileage is only 42700 and has been used sparingly only on sunny days cruising the Hamptons. This car belongs to a customer of mine that he's owned for many years. He tasked me with finding the car for him and I searched for a year or so before I found this low mileage original owner car. It has always been garaged and has never seen snow or rain. The colour combination is beautiful and highly sought after. If you know these cars you'll know they suffer from rust but this car has no rust or accident damage anywhere. The car is very original with the exception of an added third brake light from a later Mercedes for safety reason. There are only a few things this car needs to be perfect. The original top has deteriorated stitching and needs to be replaced. It is usable but not perfect. It has rarely been used as the car is always garaged and covered. The paint is near perfect with only very minor blemishes. The air conditioning will need a recharge as the car hasn't been used in a few years. It was repainted approximately 15 years ago due to some checking on the hood and trunk lid. The original factory hardtop is included with the car and will be fitted upon pickup. It's not easy to find a car of this caliper with this low mileage. The car is available for inspection on a lift with a days advanced notice. Owner is selling only because of health reason and will sell to the hightest bidder with no reserve.

I started the car today as it haven't been driven in some time. It started first turn of the key and runs beautifully. The car shifts and steers perfectly. The ride is very smooth with no strange noises. All the lights worked as they should. The clock works(not sure if it keeps time). The original radio works and the antennae. I didn't have a cassette to test but it likely works. The ac blows cool but it likely will need a charge when driven it hotter weather. The carpet is faded but in very good shape. No tears, rips or damages. A good re dying would make them as new. The body is straight and is very nice. The car has the original owners manual and the spare appears to have never been removed. I forgot to test the cruise while driving. This is a special car so bid to own it. You will not be disappointed. I accident broke the passenger side visor so it will need replacing.
