Car description

1982 Mercedes-Benz 300CD Turbo Coupe Diesel. This is one of the best Classic Coupe Turbo diesel from the mid 80' I have ever seen. The car was purchased by the first owner in Salt Lake City, Utah. The first owner kept the car in a garage under a cover, driving it to and from Utah to New Mexico on occasion to his w/e cabin. It was sold to owner No. 2, on 4/28/2014 who kept it less than 1 year (Also garaged).I bought the car from the owner No 2 on 2/28/2015 and drove it to Santa Rosa, Ca. where the car is now.I also kept the car garaged. It had 99.099 miles on it when I purchased it. I have added approx. 23,935 miles, driving it only locally, 50/50 city/hwy. It now shows 122,034 miles. The car is excellent condition and drives beautifully. All chrome and trim are in excellentcondition. The power sunroof works as it should and does not leak. The windshield was replaced with an OEM part, including OEM gasket, but now has a minor chip on pass, side, which can be repaired. All other glass is original and in perfect condition, the defroster element in the rear glassworks.Engine runs great, starts on the first crank, idles smooth, stops immediately when turning off, which is an indication for excellent compression. Acceleration is smooth and the transmission shifts properly.Transmission shifts smoothly, I recently upgraded it with the new style shift modulator. The vacuum system works properly, all door locks, trunk lock, and climate controls work. Even the vac cruise control works. (but not as good as on my Tesla Model 3 )The AC system was converted from R13 to R134a and functions properly. All gages work, even the clock. Radio works, including the optional 5- CD changer in the trunk. The interior is in immaculate condition. The dash has no cracks, is covered with a dash mat to protect it from the Ca. sun.Trim is in good condition, only the driver side door trim needs attention, due to a minor leak at the upper side of the window during heavy rain. (I just don't have time to take care of it.)Carpeting is original and in excellent condition, including orig. MB mats. I have added genuine Coco Mats in the front. The door cards are in mint condition, not wrinkled as seen on many cars this age. The seats are also in mint condition.Tires are in good condition. The dash wood grain trim is in perfect condition, there are no cracks or scratches. There is a minor dent on the splash guard under the front right side of the bumper. Can be easily bumped out. There is absolutely no rust anywhere. The undercarriage is in great condition. The rubberized undercoating is in original condition. The paint is mostly original, except for the rear, left fender, which has been repainted. The car was involved in a minor fender-bender last year, when a woman on a cell phone, clipped the left rear fender, while I was stopped for a right turn, waiting for a pedestrian to clear. My insurance company would not repair the damage, and decided to total the car, since the repair "exceeded the value of the car". Therefore the salvaged title... Go figure.I decided to keep the car and had the fender professionally repaired, the color matched perfectly. Before the fender bender, the car had an appraised value of 13,732.00. Appraisal furnished upon request). (Diminished value due to bodywork and salvage title unknown).
What sets this car apart from most of the same vintage is the excellent overall condition. The interior was never exposed to extreme, hot sun conditions in California, spent most of its life in a moderate climate (Utah), never exposed to salt and very little rain. Garaged when not driven.Low mileage, only 3 owners (actually only 2, owner #2 did not drive it much during 10 months of ownership).I have many addition pic's available and can email them upon request.Contact me for additional information. The car can be inspected and driven anytime...
