Car description

1973 Mercedes 280 W114 Diesel swap from 300D W123

Light Ivory exterior with Red interior. Has been my daily driver the the past year and has been incredibly reliable. Runs and drives smoothly. Has never had a problem starting. Shifts smoothly. Odometer reads ~72,000 but does not work. Trip does work. Motor is an inline 5 cylinder diesel from a 78 300D with ~85,000 miles. Averages 21-24 MPG. All lights are working. Clean interior. Drivers seat spring and cushioning are worn down as expected at this age, but seat surface has no rips. Paint has normal blemishes and chips from being 45 years old, but nothing major. Clean CA tile in my name. Tire tread is good. Steady running temperature of 200 degrees. A/C is not working and has not been looked into.

Does not leak any oil at all. All previous oil leaks were taken care of under my ownership.

New parts under my ownership of the last year (receipts included):

Both front and rear brake calipers, rotors, pads, hoses (was purchased with no brakes).

Brake master cylinder

Brake booster

Brake vacuum pump

Valve cover gasket

Transmission pan gasket

Transmission cooler lines and ATF

Oil cooler lines

Engine oil pan gasket

Power steering pump

Both fuel filters

Two drive belts (A/C belt and P/S belt)

Driver’s window regulator

Coolant flush

Oil, oil filter and air filter were just changed on Jan. 8, 2019.

Missing original front carpets. Could use new motor mounts to reduce vibration at idle.

Asking $5900 cash or best offer. Will consider interesting trades. Looking for 60’s/70’s American cars. Open to trucks and SUV’s.
