This is a very hard-to-find 1985 Mercedes-Benz 300 Series with an AMG package, a piece of European and American history from the 1980's. This 300 came with the 5 cylinder turbo diesel motor and automatic transmission. It fires right up, faster than some of our newer gas cars actually, and just had a recent service completed. A Euro mechanic replaced the valve cover gasket, fuel injector o-rings, fresh alignment and did a synthetic oil change. The rest of the inspection found the car to be in very good condition for the year and miles.

We get a lot of looks driving this car around, and it is quite beautiful. It was owned by two sisters whose father passed away a couple years ago. He was a Mercedes collector of sorts, and loved the 80's MB cars. This one was passed down from him to both of them, but was not suitable for year round driving in Minnesota where one of them moved to recently. We got the car as a local trade in. The family took great pride in it from what we saw and the service/overall condition of the car.

From the looks of the accident FREE CarFax. It appears the car was owned by 3/4 people since new in 1985. It is quite unique and does have a few aftermarket features. I believe the wheel and tire combination is not original as there are receipts for new wheels and tires. It has an aftermarket radio, as well as some sort of stereo system in the trunk built by Automotive Electronicsout of Oak Lawn Illinois. It does appear to have a light window film on at least the 3 back windows, but it is very light. There is a sticker under the hood that states it has been converted to R-134a refrigerant but the AC was not blowing ice cold when I checked, although it is cold here in generalthis time of year.

The moon roof does work, and nearly all features do operate in the car. Here are some of the minor issues with the car I have found. There are rust spots, a few pop can bottom-sized bubbles on the back of the trunk lid, and one in the rear right dog leg as pictured. There are a couple scuffs on the bumpers as well. We could have had these painted, but do not like to cover things up, so left them as it came in. The hood liner like most of the early Benz cars is nearly gone. The window film on the passenger rear window has come off somewhat. The interior has normal wear and tear, no rips or tears, though. The passenger's seat does not move, this I have not had looked at as I just noticed it taking photos. The AC as mentioned does not blow ice cold, but the heat works great! All the windows work but are a bit slow compared to windows these days. The power locks work, but we are working on a solution as to why the key is not operating the locks, we may have the lock re-keyed. If the buyer wishes, we can negotiate the seat being fixed as well, or you can have it fixed. I have not looked into it yet.

The overall condition is good, and the underside is very clean for having been in Illinois for many years. This car is a unicorn and quite the gem.

The car runs amazing, and drives even better. I was really impressed at the ride qualityand the overall engineering. It is when Mercedes-Benz built real, solid cars. Not even comparable to the ones on the road today. There were no drive line, brake, suspension or drive-abilityproblems found by the third party mechanic.

This is your chance at a piece of history. I have yet to have someone not think it was the coolest car they had ever seen. So many compliments it is unreal! Good luck and happy bidding! Thank you so much!
