Steyr Puch /Mercedes 240GD Diesel Cabrio Legal Import

1982 Steyr Puch 240 GD (Identical to Mercedes) Cabrio. The VIN is 46031017007058. Very good. original condition with very minimal rust. Has had previous rust repair with new metal panels so any serious rust has already been repaired. Anything remaining is minor or some small bubbles here and there. Don't believe all the ebay sellers who claim 'NO RUST' on their Gwagens. they hide it and lie about it. They also claim 'low mileage' when the meter turns over at 100k on older G's. Even this one shows 99000 kilometers but the previous owner told me it has 200k kilometers. which is 125000 miles. My auction will have no fake bidding like most others either. Runs and sounds very well. Has a few electrical glitches which I am attempting to repair currently and I will update if these are fixed by the time the auction ends. Very reasonable reserve at $11500. legal import after passing Customs Examinations with clear Ohio title. Customs release paperwork will be provided along with title. This 240 GD has been imported from Eastern Europe and comes with all customs clearance paperwork and a clear Ohio title in my name. It runs and sounds very well and I have included a video of it running ( YOUTUBE VIDEO LINK BELOW). Has been repainted in flat dark green at some point and its an overall decent paint quality. It does have some minor paint bubbles here and there. nothing serious. The passenger floor board and some sections in the tailgate area have previously been replaced with new metal so the previous owner did do some rust repair to address any major concerns. so there isn't anything serious in the rust department to worry about. Frame is 100% solid and all original with no patching. The frames on Gwagens are very heavy duty. unlike Landrovers and Toyotas so they don't suffer from rust damage. A lot of G's on ebay are advertised as 'NO RUST' by importers. they paint over it and lie about it. Unless its a full restoration. don't believe anyone who claims 'NO RUST' on a 33 year old Gwagen. It runs and sounds very well. very little smoke when cold which clears up when warm. It has power steering which works fine. 4wd shifts easily and the differential lock levers move easily also. It does have w463 tail lights installed which give it a more modern look compared to the W460 tail lights. Also has a very nice custom bull bar that suits it well. not oversized but has the right proportions. Recently. the following items have been installed by me:New coil springs in the rear (heavy duty white stripe) from Eurotruck Importers. New steering damper from Eurotruck Importers. New lift pump hand primer pump (new style Bosch)New glow plug relay. New battery. New fuel filters (both)New gear shifter bushings. New rear Steyr Puch badgeNew driver side 240 GD badge. New door handle bezels. Seat belts are not currently installed but will be installed in the next few days on the front seats. It has a few electrical glitches:Fender mounted turn signals not coming on. Wiper motor not coming on4wd lights not coming on. though 4wd works fine. Horn works from a dash mounted button. not steering wheel. Blower motor is noisy on the high setting. very little noise on the low setting which is not noticeable with the engine running. The rear tailgate is latched from the inside with aftermarket latches. the original latches were missing though the strike plates and handle are present. Someone could adapt some pickup truck tailgate latches with a bit of fabrication to make it work. I searched for the original latches but could not find them. all latches but the tailgate latches are available as this is a cabrio tailgate and uses unique latches. The tailgate shuts fine with the aftermarket latches. The Hella spot lights on the bull bar are not wired so they are just for show. I was going to remove them but decided to leave them on if anyone wants to wire them up. Cabrio soft top is a replacement top but is completely water tight and doesn't let in any snow either. I have verified this so its a good replacement top which seals great. Overall this is a very good Puch cabrio 240 GD in original condition. Runs well. its not perfect but its a solid vehicle. My reserve is $11500. lower than all the other G's on ebay that claim to be 'perfect with no rust'. Thanks for looking.
