1988 Mercedes Benz 560SL Red on Tan with soft top and hard top

Purchased by current owner's late husband in 2014 and used sparingly since then. This is one of the best models of the SL series with the 1986-1989 only 5.6 liter V8 engine. Put out 227 hp from the factory, this is the higher compression engine.
Lots of important maintenance done in current ownership such as timing chain, front shocks, front brake rotors, steering damper, fuel pumps (as shown), regulator, tune up, etc... Records available for work done as well as a maintenance log maintained by the owner.
The car has seen very little use over the past year due to his passing and his widow has asked me to help her sell the car. I'm happy to arrange an inspection by potential buyers or to take it to the shop of your choice for a pre-purchase inspection. We have set the price to take into account the fact that the car may need a few small items (tires show signs of aging, battery has a slow drain).
The car has a solid, rust free undercarriage. Minor rust on the front of the passenger fender, above the headlight. The car had that fender repainted at one point (I do not know the details, this happened prior to current ownership).
It starts up perfectly every time. I've had the pleasure of driving the car and it is truly what you expect a classic Mercedes to be: it has presence, it is sure footed and responsive. It is quiet, pleasant and predictable.
