Car description

This is an absolutely excellent example of the classic Mercedes Benz 560SL. This one from 1987, been owned by a private auto collector that kept all is cars as close to pristine as possible. He owned the car for the past 18 years, always garage kept, driven only on nice sunny days. Monthly, even if the car was not driven, it would be started and brought up to normal operating temps to make sure it would be ready to drive at any time. Frankly, this is one of the best ones I have found under $50,000. Now, it will not sell for $50,000 because of the miles, but it is every bit as nice as those at 2-3x the price.
The EXTERIOR of the car is NEARLY PERFECT. That is not a comment I would make on most cars that were used as a driver, but this is very close. Body panels are all straight as an arrow, gaps are all factory, no rust, dents, or major imperfections. Wheels are perfect, free of rash, scratches, or markings. Tires are in excellent shape. Chrome on the car is nearly new looking. There are a couple extremely minor items, otherwise I would call it a concours exterior. There is a small, 3/8" scratch on the rear deck by the hardtop that has been touched up. This is very common in these cars as the hardtop is heavy and takes two people without a hoist. There is a small, 3/8" chip on the drivers door on the inside edge, like where it may have hit something. Again, this is being nit-picky, but its the only two imperfections I have found on the exterior of the car. All exterior lighting is working, electric antenna works (though will only go up 1/2 the way), underside is as clean as the topside. Soft top is not new, but looks to be as nice as a freshly installed one. It is in navy blue and compliments the interior nicely. In fact, this car has not even been through our detail shop, nor was it detailed prior to our purchase. This is how it was maintained, which speaks volumes on how this car was cared for in the past 18 years.
The INTERIOR of the car is ABOVE AVERAGE. This interior of the car is 100% stock, including radio which is commonly replaced in these cars. Yes it even works as well. I could not find any accessory on the car that did not work, lights all work, radio, cold a/c, hot heat, windows, locks, cruise, all are working order. Interior is all original, unrestored condition. It even has the very rare rear jump seat option installed. If I was being picky, here are the couple of items on the interior that less than perfect. There is a very small dash crack starting to develop as shown in the pictures. The center console is in excellent condition, though a couple small cracks are starting to develop but cannot be seen in the pictures. The seats are in excellent shape, not brittle or cracked. I am showing you the car as I got it.
The overall condition of the car is EXCELLENT. The engine compartment is as clean as the outside and inside of the car, and it has not been through a detail, this is how it was maintained. I have service records of the last 18 years, though prior maintenance is detailed in the original owners manual from prior owner. Spare tire has NEVER TOUCHED THE GROUND, 100% original with the original tag still on the spare. Full tool kit, first aid kit and hardtop tools are all included in the sale. CarFax is showing no accidents reported on the car and it appears to wear original paint. Car even includes the original 2 keys and valet key (I have never gotten one of these in the 50+ Mercedes I've owned in the past several years).
This car runs and drives as it should. I have put nearly 75 miles on it, and it runs, starts, stops, accelerates just as it should and you would expect. I have had many lower mile SLs, but this runs and drives better than those. Overall, a nearly all original 560SL that you will not be disappointed to own.
