THE OVERVIEW
Offered for an appreciating new ownerat NO RESERVEis this classic 1975 Mercedes Benz 450SL Roadster!
Finished in light blue metallic over navy, this "semi-barn-find" was recently acquired from my deceased dealer friend who had plans of restoring it to its original luster. It was, and is still very desirable due to the low mileage for its age. Yes, the working six-digit odometer shows just over 30.000 miles though I cannot 100% verify the miles to be accurate and true. So, with that being said, it is a bit of a "project car" that starts and runs fine though has not been actively driven for at least four years.It has chromed factory alloy wheels, the factory hardtop and, what appears to be the factory original navy blue soft top. It also features the rare factory back seat. Alpine cassette stereo, electric windows, cruise control, a/c, the factory owners manual and convertible top key. It is being sold with clear and clean California title.

THE BODY AND TRIM
The exterior of this car is in fair, almost rust-free condition overall. It received a lackluster $1500 repaint in the original color about 5 years ago. It has a few rust bubbles forming on the rear deck lid and along the bottom side panels. There are scratches along the rear deck lid, miscellaneous nicks, scrapes and other blemishes along with missing hood emblem. It needs to have bits and pieces like rocker moldings, mirrors and other items re-installed to finish it. I have a trunk full of parts as shown but definitely missing a few items like door panel inserts. Yes, it is a great project for someone who appreciates these old classic Benzes.

THE INTERIOR
As I hope is articulated in the photos here, the interior of this 1975 Benz is a bit of an anomaly with what looks to be newly redone seat upholstery front and rear, working electric windows and working odometer. Weak points include missing door panels, de-laminating wood sections, cracks on the dash and faded trim pieces.

THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This classic starts easily [just replaced the battery], runs fairly well and smooth with no smoking or major roughness, shifts well with good braking. There is a hole in the exhaust, tires are old and cracked so I do not recommend driving this car very far prior to a mechanical once over as it has been sitting un-driven for several years
