1985 Mercedes 300CD turbo diesel coupe low miles 2 owner orig.CA car w. records

1985 was the last year Mercedes built the gorgeous W123 series 2 door coupe. The 300CD diesel coupe was made from 1978 until 1985 and only from 1982 -1985 with the turbodiesel version. Only 8007 of these wonderful cars made it to the US .
Here i am selling a 2 owner California car with only 142k miles, all the books and even the original window sticker. ( $ 37293,- in 1985) This car was always pampered and garaged and it shows. There has never been an accident and there is no rust. The paint is still original and in wonderful condition. It shines like on a much newer car. The chrome is still in outstanding condition and i do get compliments on it every time i drive it.
This car was finished in the rare color of "Rauchsilber" ( "Smoke Silver " MB color code 702) with Palomino color leather interior . The leather was a rare and expensive option for this car in 1985. The leather seats are still in amazing condition.There are no rips or tears and i just took the seat covers off when i was taking the pictures. The leather is still soft and looks and feels like on a much newer car. I did upload many detailed pictures, they can show it better than i can describe it. The carpets are clean, soft and not discolored at all. The wood accents still shine like new and there are no cracks at all. Even the original dashboard is in wonderful condition. The door-panels, the headliner and even the mirrored sun-visors are in great shape.
All the gauges work the way they should. This car always starts up right away and it has plenty of power from the get go. The transmission shifts smooth through all the gears and it really is a fun car to drive. It is like experiencing true luxury from 30 years ago without all the electronic bells and whistles of today. There are no electronic sensors giving wrong signals every few days. If you take care of this car with simple maintenanc, there is no reason you could not still be driving it in 30 years from now. It is like going back in tim, when cars were built to last a lifetime and not just until the next years model comes along.
The tires are new Michelins and rims are in great condition as well. There is no deferred maintenance and i could not think of anything it needs.
Everything is working as intended. Cruise control, power sunroof, power door locks and even the power antenna work correctly. All the power windows front and back go up and down all the way.
I would not hesitate to drive this car to the east coast at a moments notice. It has been maintained properly and it shows right awa, once you drive it. With the last year of a low volume productio, only 2 owners, optional leather seats, low miles and books and records this would be a great car for any car collector. It would also be a wonderful candidate for somebody who likes classic car, but needs it to be reliable for every day driving. The W123 series are considered some of the longest lasting and most reliable cars Mercedes Benz has ever built.
Whoever buys this wonderful 300CD should not be disappointed. If you have any question, feel free to send me a note through Ebay and i will respond quickly. I would prefer to sell it locally to somebody who could actually come out and see it / test drive it. But i would also be helpful with shipping arrangements or an airport pick up for an out of town winning bidder. ( all shipping to be paid by the buyer of course)
