the 1971 289 SE 3.5 is the last hand-build production automobile to come from Mercedes.The W 111's are renowned as one of the Mercedes Benz's most elegant designs,and the 1971 is the epitome of class,power,and performance of that Bosch fuel injection was a first in the 280 SE's and the car run beautifully at highway speeds.

the coupe las lagged the cabriolet in value but is now climbing rapidly.At the recent auctions in Monterey/Pebble Beach examples of coupe sold for $125,000,$145,000 and $195,000 respectively.
