Car description

This rare and classic 1969 Mercedes Benz 280SE Coupe is one of the last of the hand built vehicles manufactured by Mercedes Benz Germany! There were less than 4000 of these coupes ever built in the era 1968 through 1971. It is indeed, n exceptional condition!

I have personally owned this car for almost 30 years! Prior to that time, t was owned by my good friend and his family since new. I looked for many years to find one like thisand finally convinced him to sell it to me in the 1980's. It has less than 100,000 miles and has yet to turn over for the first time! The odometer currently reads 99,750 miles. It has always been garaged and has never been in the rain since I've owned it. In fact, t has always been in snow and salt free environments since coming to America in 1969. It began it's life in Las Vegas, evada and moved to Portland, regon in the early 80's. Consequently, t has a rust free carriage/frame. It has always been garaged and is a Sunday driver (but only if the weather is sunny and dry), nly coming out for special occasions. I've averaged about 1-2000 miles a year for the last 30 years! It has always been regularly hand washed and waxed by me personally with exacting detail! It is a smoke-free car. This car is immaculate and truly does not show it's age of almost 50 years! Please view pictures for evidence of this.

This baby has been regularly maintained by Portland area Mercedes Benz Specialists since the 1980's. All records are available with purchase.

The car includes original and standard AT (on column), S, B, W and A/C (not currently functioning) and original Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. The specialist that has maintained this vehicle confided that it is the smoothest shifting 280SE automatic he has ever encountered. I had the body of the car painted with several coats of Mercedes Benz color "China Blue" and the top done in a complementary very light blue top with several coats of clear coat to give it it's mirror like finish! Dashboard wood was personally refinished and refurbished last year. The blue leather interior was done by local vintage artist Roy Moyer at significant expense after spending months and months in line! It is like new! I also had a $2000 custom sound system installed including a JVC 10 disc CD changer to marry up with the original Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. We can't drive anywhere without people honking, iving us the thumbs up sign or stopping to inquire about the car! If you are lucky enough to be the winning bidder, ou too will be the recipient of all this attention. Please contact me with any questions you may have and I will promptly respond to the best of my ability. Additional photos are available. You won't go wrong with this Classic. It's been babied all its' life and will make for a great driver/looker. It responds well and is a sleek highway cruiser! It pains me to let it go.
