Car description

You are bidding on a 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE, the last year of the classic first generation RX-7. I got the car from a seller in Kansas City who had brought it from its original home in California. The California sun had been hard on the finish so the car was very much in need of a paint job, but it was and remains rust free. A friend of mine who runs a foreign car repair service painted it in exchange for some money he owed me. I bought it in November, 2009 and my friend had it in his shop to paint it until June, 2010. Since then it has been driven very little, as I always intended to sell it after it was painted but never got around to it.
The car runs well, but it is a 1985 so I would not use it as a daily driver, maybe more of a weekend fun car. I think there is a leak in the hatch window, as I noticed the sound deadening fiber mat under the rear hatch carpet got wet from rain, so I pulled it all out to replace it with batting I got at a crafts store. I have taken pictures of the place where the fiber was, and how it looks with the carpet back in place. I will give the seller the batting and adhesive I got to replace it. You will note it has the glass insert for the sunroof in a bag under the hatch. I have never had the glass roof in, I have always used the hard top insert, as it came.
The car has been in our garage since I pulled the wet fiber, so the next owner should look into the seals on the rear hatch window, that is most likely where the leak is. Also the plastic foam like material on the steering wheel is pitted in spots--not a big deal, but you notice it while driving. Otherwise this is a clean, rust free car with about 120M miles on it. It is the fuel infected 13B version, with a manual transmission.
I am selling this in a no reserve auction with a very low starting bid for a car in this condition.
Please feel free to call Mike at 219-765-5910 with any questions, and thanks for looking! If you have any interest in a 1990 BMW 325i convertible check out my other listing.
The car is located near Crown Point, IN 46307 about 2 miles south of Exit 247 on I-65. Winning bidder is to make a $250 payment by paypal within 48 hours of auction end with final payment within 7 days, though the car can be picked up later than that if needed.
