Car description

1992 Mazda Miata converted to Spec Miata rules. Car is not street legal at this time - but only due to the removal of the horn. Car has Autopower bolt in roll cage with dual bars on driver and passenger sides. Cage and car have been inspected by SCCA and a logbook has been issued. Interior has been removed and an aluminum racing seat and harness have been installed. Quick release steering wheel hub - the "pin" type and not the sloppy spline type. AC has been removed by the heater is still installed and works. The power steering rack has been converted to manual - so the pump and lines are gone with a re-circulation tube fitted to the rack. Full Spec Miata suspension including Bilstein shocks, ibach springs and Eibach swaybars. Kosei K1 15" aluminum wheels are fitted - although the paint on the wheels is in poor shape and you may want to refinish them. Its not necessary but you may want to. The car is fitted with stock brake pads. The car has an open differential. Car was daily driven when I first got it and has seen limited street time since being converted to Spec Miata. Driven it a few times SCCA autocross events at Turner field in Atlanta - never raced on full road course. Comes with the hardtop. Currently has street tires. You'll need to change the expired belts, hange the brakes to track pads and rotors, hange the tires and you can get racing! Inexpensive way to get into the sport. Thanks for looking!!

Clutch was replaced with a new Zoom clutch about 5,000 miles ago.Water pump was replaced around 5,000 miles ago.Car has a two chamber Flowmaster muffler and no catalytic converter.I have the upper door bars. They just need to be drilled and bolted in place if your racing series requires double door bars.

Compression test on 10/25/2015: Cylinder 1: 195Cylinder 2: 200Cylinder 3: 200Cylinder: 4 205Minimum spec is 135 with no more than 28psi between cylinders so this car's engine is WELL within specs. Also comes with driver's window net and manufacturer's service manual.

Hardtop is OEM.
