Car description

This auction is for a 1942 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet .V12 3spd manual with 38,041 actual miles. It belongs to a friend of mine who asked if I could list it for her. She purchased the car a little over 2 1/2 years ago and has always kept it garaged. She is a very busy person with properties and other things that take up her time. So she really doesn't have time to enjoy the car. She has been on a few trips and events with the car but now it's time for someone who can enjoy it more. This particular year car is quite rare seeing that only 136 total units were built. We checked 1 source that said only 27 are known to exist that are road worthy. Prior to her ownershi, the car had gone through a complete nut and bolt restoration with noexpense spared. It was well over 100,000 dollars. I am not sure how long ago this was done but it is still holding up quite well. There are a few blemishes on the paint and the top has a couple of very tiny pin holes on passenger side and also some minor staining. The power window switches work intermittentlyso they will need to be addressed. Mechanicallythe car runs very well and drives just as well also. Interior is in very nice shape. Also have the boot for the convertible top. Has 700, 15 Firestonewide white wall tires. All the chrome is in excellentshape. This is the only year that Lincoln did all the gold trim on the interior. The detailing on the underside of the car still looks great also. A port folio was done just recently by Triple A magazine and will be profiled in the January, February 2020 edition. The car commandsan audience where ever she takes it out. If you are looking for a collector car that is a solid blue chip investment than this could be for you.The car is available for viewing just need advance notice. We have current Maine registration and proper transfer paper work should you need a title in your state. We require a $1000 dollar non refundable deposit at the end of the auction and balance to be paid for within 3 days.
