Car description

I have had Defenders since Dec, 1993, and have been building/modifying them since! As I did, I bought, parted, and stored many donor vehicles/parts- burnt via dash or engine fires, hit in the rear, theft recovery, etc, and you can view several restored/built/sold examples if you look at the sold page on thervrbarn site. However, I am now mid 60's, and have had some serious health issues this year resulting in the sale of many of my 'keeper' vehicles/Rovers. As such, this '85 Land Rover Defender 90 has been built to a near identical '95/'97 NAS spec example. Why pay $75-100k for one, when most folks will never be able to tell the difference? Here is the chance to have an extremely nice example in better condition than most existing factory NAS 90's!!
The good:-solid frame with NAS fuel tank, axles, brakes, etc-new doors and hinges!!-recent bushings and brakes-near new Tough Dog +2" springs and adjustable shocks from Australia-original Safari Gard sliders/side steps/nerf bars, new when installed- front windshield hoop and B hoop orig NAS, with custom rear cage tied to frame- built by RTE-Canvas/Tickford/wool top, near new-waterproof seat covers over recent Exmoor seat recover/foam kits-NAS 3.9 with aprox 75k miles fitted to automatic transmission from Disco-BFG 315/75-16 onprofessionally paintedRover alloys-Puma center storage pod-Aluminum fuel tank guard-diff guard-aprox 5k miles on build-rear window is clear with tint. Side windows can be added by any upholstery or boat shop- I prefer the solid side windows to safeguard from wandering eyes
And the bad:-minor rust to lower edge of rear crossmember which is very typical. Not replaced as it is very minor, and no rust where the crossmember and frame intersect. It has been mitigated with POR15.
This is a serious auction, and please realize you are bidding to purchase, not come take a look, then decide. As such, pre-bid inspections are welcome, and in fact encouraged- especially if you have never driven a Defender! This Defender is basically a restored and modified vehicle, and is still 33 years old! Consequently, there is no warranty of any kind- expressed, implied or otherwise!! Please use due diligence as I need to liquidate these vehicles, and do not have time or energy to resist. Thanks for your understanding, and best of luck bidding!!
