What is it about the iconic Land Rover Series trucks that everyone loves? Is it the sense of adventure when you see one, and you imagine a cross continent expedition? Or is it just the desire for a simpler time? Whatever tugs at you, these trucks have an emotional pull for everyone that sees them. This example is a wonderful driver, with modern performance, and the ultimate summer cruiser.
While the true mileage is unknown, this Land Rover spent the last 25 years in single family ownership. The Land Rover saw daily use for almost two decades, until handed down to the son about 7 years ago. Being a Land Rover, it still ran well, but it had seen a lot of use, so the decision was made two years ago to pull the whole truck apart and go through everything to get it back to serviceable condition.
During this process when the truck was apart it received new paint (driver quality grey, original color was red), new canvas top, new tires, new lights, body seals, and several areas of trim and hardware. In the middle of the garage restoration, the decision was made to embark on the 200tdi Defender conversion. Sourcing an engine with under 100K on it, things were cleaned up with new seals, new engine and transmission mounts, and proper shortened/lengthened driveline components.
Recent work includes fitting rear jump seats, new front bumper, mud flaps, and a major mechanical service addressing rear axle rebuild, engine oil leaks, four new brake wheel cylinders, re-routed exhaust to factory location, new timing belt, updated turbo and intercooler piping.
The truck drives very well and was used by the previous owner as daily driver for the last two years after all of the work was completed. Plenty of power for all situations with the Defender running gear, and will cruise very comfortably at 55-60mph (it will do 65+, but gets a bit noisy!). With the top rolled up, it is the best in-town cruiser for sunny days we have had in years. Be prepared to get honks, waves, and thumbs ups wherever you go.
Sale also includes notable spares – Transfer Case with a 1.222 ratio from a Discovery, versus the 1.410 Defender transfer case (what is installed now), Land Rover service manual, tdi timing toolkit, spare rear hatch door (new).

I welcome in-person inspections in Issaquah, WA. Please call with any questions or to come and see the truck. Jason - 206-355-7727
