Car description

1981 Lancia Beta Zagato Special Edition
Approx. 113K miles
Engine gone through a year ago, in good condition
New water pump, New timing belt. Race header. AC works – dash tubing has been removed for access to clutch cable (also new); owner still has it. Lowered rally springs from BetaBoyz; Rally bushings from BetaBoyz. Haartz convertible cloth top with original leather tonneau cover. Adjustable Koni struts (rear deck has holes to access adjusters; complete with covers). Custom vinyl/cloth seats and inner door covers in black/gold to match exterior paint scheme. John Montgomery shift improver kit. Added insulation under carpet for sound and heat. Nardi steering wheel with Lancia emblem horn and FIAM two-tone air horn. Sony sound system with amplifier and six speakers (tweeters embedded into the dash). Quality dash cap. Two hard tops. Majority of the paint is original (showing some spiderwebbing on the hood). New Othsu tires on original Lancia wheels; Plastidipped to show spoke pattern. Fog lights. Braces had separated from the B-pillar; strengthened and re-welded. There has been some rust holes in the floorboards – new metal has been added and welded. Rust on the underside has been neutralized and undercoated. Dash lights replaced with LED bulbs; front side markers now also act as turn indicators. Power windows regreased, tracks straightened. There are some small rust spots, but no cancer areas. The fuel pump will whine after running for a while.
This car is an absolute pleasure to drive – very comfortable and tracks and turns like a champ, you can dial in whatever ride you’re looking for with the Konis. The engine is quite responsive with lots of torque. Brakes are good. As with all Italian cars, there is a good deal of maintenance that’s required, and I just don’t have the ability or cash flow to do it anymore. I’d love to keep this car, but I just can’t afford it anymore. Price asked doesn’t even come close to the amount that has been put into the car.
The car comes with a LOT of extras –
Interior – steering column covers, footwell pockets, extra HVAC vents, glovebox door and latch, HVAC controls, heater box and core, doorsills, door armrest/pulls, rear speaker covers, headrest (1), instrument panel (scavenged for current panel), extra rocker switches, two period steering wheels, one Grant steering wheel, center console piece, rear seat belts, etc.

Exterior – side marker lenses, rear tail light assembly(w/o cover), 2 tail light covers (possibly off another Beta), grill for the hood, front grill, four extra bushings from BetaBoyz, headlight bezels, one headlight frame, engine braces and struts, AC condenser, fuel filler pipe, distributor, door window glass, four Falken Raptor tires mounted on correct Lancia wheels(about 50% tread), extra hard targa top, Lancia center caps, etc.

MISC: Haynes and Lancia repair manuals, Lancia Ad pamphlets, various auto magazine articles on the Zagato, two car covers, gray cap with embroidered Beta symbol, Lancia Beta Club coffee mug, ALL RECORDS, etc.
