Car description

Up for your consideration is an outstanding example of a 1988 Jeeep Grand Wagoneer with a clean and accurate carfax. I looked long and hard before I found this really nice example of an American classic. I flew down to North Carolina and drove it home. This truck was in very good condition when I purchased it, and through a lot of work and diligence, made it better during my ownership. During my ownership, the following was done:
1) The engine was professionally rebuilt. The engine was removed by my mechanic, and sent to Promar Engines in Paterson, NJ for a complete rebuild. I encourage you to go to their website for a summary of what is done to an engine when it is remanufactured - block, heads, pistons, bearings, camshaft, timing chain and gears etc. The truck as all new gaskets, hoses, heater core, plugs, wires, distributor cap, points, belts and rotor. The original carburetor was cleaned and adjusted for an easy start, along with a new fuel and air filter.Engine compartment is nicely detailed as it looked back in 1988, complete with a new hood insulation pad. A new battery last month is a nice touch for reliability and provides that finishing touch to an impressive engine compartment. The air conditioner was retrofitted and blows cold! Nothing better than cooling off in a great ride on a hot day! The transmission was flushed and replaced with new fluid and filter. Differential oils was changed and brakes have plenty of life to them. Smooth stops and the suspension is in fine order. The exhaust was replaced by the prior owners (Carfax reflects that). However, the drivers side exhaust manifold was replaced during the engine rebuild.
2) Interior - all seats are original. I had a new headliner installed along with having thesunvisor's redone with the same fabric. The carpet is original to the car. Its in excellent shape with no excessive wear and tare. Note: Thetailgate carpet on the door was redone; its a slightly different tone than the original, but it clearly beats the original that was there. It was too far gone! The dash is not cut, and an original radio was acquired and put back in the car. This jeep had a very 80's satellite radio and phone. I left the phone mount in there and the antenna mount on the rear cabin side glass. Note - all windows go up and down!
3) Exterior - As I live in the North East, the winter months are not forgiving to the frame and body of a collector car. I searched long and hard and found this one down south. The body, paint, interior and underneath were quite solid; I have plenty of pictures - so happy to provide! While I could have kept the original paint, there were its share of scratches from its mild use throughout the years, so I decided to have it repainted. Please note, the "wood grain" is original to the truck. While it does have a few nicks here and there I decided to leave it. The exterior and interior window rubber was replaced. Nicefunctionality and detail! This was also done on the tailgate window as well.
4) Underneath - Dry, solid, no rust, rot or evidence of any accidents -> which corresponds to the Carfax! The bottom looks as nice as the car itself! - Thepinch welds, rocker panels and body bushings are in good order.
5) Driving Experience - No noises, rattles or issues. Nice acceleration, braking and ease of operation. You will not be disappointed with this investment!
6) Included in the sale are some nice documentation, owners manual, prior repair receipts from previous owners along with the receipts of efforts completed during my ownership and pictures. As I mentioned above, Promar Engines in Paterson rebuilt the original engines, documented pictures and receipts areincluded. I have taken over 200 pictures of this fine Americian steel classic, and I will put them all on athumb drive for the next owner.
7) Notable - The truck is not perfect; it needs some minor things to make it even better than what it is. The power door locks - they pop up, but one has to pus them down. Note: sometimes the driver door locks - so make sure there is either an open window vent or other door open. There are somescratches on the vent by the hood (last picture); I do not know the root cause. Finally, the temperaturegauge does not work. The sensor on theengine block was replaced - it may be thegauge itself.
The truck is sold "as is" / "where is" with no warranty expressed or implied. It is the buyers responsibility for shipping. I will help with the pickup on my end if/when the time comes. However, I have described this truck to the best of my ability for the 5 years I have owned it. It getsa lot of compliments and these are highly desirable in this condition. Iencourage any questions or pre-inspection if our schedules permit. If you have any questions, feel free to call or text 9735253301. Note - hard to take calls during business hours - so text / email work best. Please note, a non refundable deposit of $100.00 dollars is required within 24 hours of accepted bid. Truck, title, keys and documentation will not be released until all monies clear my bank.
