Car description

I have a one owner original 1978 Jeep CJ5 Levis edition up for a no reserve auction. This Jeep has the original paint, carpet, seats, complete running gear with all the smog pump, cannister and emissions in place. This Jeep has the original 1978 Virginia title with 3 miles showing on it when the Jeep was purchased new. The elderly gentleman I bought the Jeep from said he had let his son drive it for a couple of years and thought the fuel pump quit in 2004 and he just parked it. I put a new fuel pump, spark plugs, battery and checked all the fluids and the Jeep started right up. It has power steering and power disc brakes. Gauges and heat work, most of the lights work. The brake lights will need a switch. I took the factory one off because it was stuck on and was running the battery down with the brake lights burning all the time. I put a set of 15x10 black bullet hole wheels and 33x12.50x15 tires on the Jeep to move it as 2 of the ones on it would not hold air. The set I put on it will hold air, but have some dry rot. I think they are too big for the Jeep. Previous owners son made a home made lift kit with blocks bolted to the frame and the spring hangers bolted to them (see pics). I would change that back to original and put some factory size tires and wheels on it. I have some factory wheels and tires also. The winning bidder will get a choice of the ones that are on the Jeep or the factory type wheels and tires. The Jeep has all the factory paperwork in the dash and is a rare item. Very original condition. It would be a great restoration project since it has only 44,426 documented miles and the original 1 owner title is clear and with the Jeep. The front hubs have been changed to Warn, but I have the original ones to go with the Jeep. The body has some rust, but the frame looks solid except for surface rust and 1 patch place on the inside of the drivers side. It has the original Levis seats with the drivers seat having some cracking at the seams. Original top on the Jeep also.Seat belts are in the Jeep. This is a running, driving Jeep. I will call it a project and will be a good one to restore because it is all original and a Levis edition. You don't see them with the original documentation like this anymore. I have 2 good used front fenders, fender flares and a good set of mirrors that I will include with the sale of the Jeep. I will add more pics. Please look at my feedback and bid with confidence on this rare find. I can furnish shipping quotes if needed. Thanks for looking and feel free to ask questions. From the previous Jeep I sold the wining bidder said Ebay is showing a problem with the email address, but it is coming thru to me, so feel free to ask questions and I will answer them promptly as I check my email daily.

Added some pics of the underhood and interior. I took the Jeep out today with the new battery, fresh gas and drove it around. 4 wheel drive, transfer case, hubs, transmission work as they should. Engine has good oil pressure and does not rattle. It does have a small hesitation in the carburetor when you are at half throttle. It probably needs a kit in it from sitting so long. Brakes are weak, but they do work. Steering is tight.
