Car description

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this desirable XK150 Two-Seater Roadster with matching numbers. This car was purchased earlier this year from the widow of it's long term Alabama owner of the past 34 years. This car is believed to have been garaged since new, as it is very well-preserved and taken care of with a very solid and straight body, excellent undercarriage. It was restored in the mid 1980's but is probably now ripe for another simple, straightforward, cosmetic restoration. The bodywork on this car is quite good. Panel fit appears per factory with nice closing panels and no evidence of damage anywhere. The doors, hood, and trunk all close nice. The car received a modest repaint in 1986 with new chrome work and rubber as part of it's restoration. It's showing fine for a daily driver, but eventually a fantastic car like this deserves a top cosmetic restoration going forward...The car's upholstery shares the same story here. It's a mixture of original and restored items from it's 1980's restoration. It presents fine for a driver. Seats are finished in black vinyl, the front carpet set was renewed. The back seat shelf area is original. The door panels could be original but are showing age. The soft top was renewed but has shrunk up a little. It has a few tears around the edges. The dashboard facia looks completely original with nice instruments. The car is fitted with an attractive period wood/alloy steering wheel with the maker's name as "Mauro". The car's roll-up windows operate well.Mechanically, the car is in great shape. The car's original 3.4 liter engine was completely rebuilt with a new 3-piece clutch, with documentation, in 1985 with few miles since. At that time, the car's front suspension was rebushed, new shocks were installed, new wheels and tires purchased. Recently, we have completely rebuilt the entire braking system including the brake master cylinder, servo, all calipers (the early round pad type) re-sleeved in stainless steel, flexy brake lines. The clutch hydraulics have also been renewed. The car runs beautifully and sounds great. We will be posting a driving video soon. This car retains it's original body tag, cylinder head and block- all matching to the factory data plate installed on the car.Overall, an extremely good, well-preserved, rare XK 150 Roadster in pleasing crisp colors that runs and drives fine. It's ready for it's next chapter in life.
