Car description

1967 Jaguar XKE Roadster

Series I E-Type OTS

The Jaguar XKE roadster has reigned supreme as the most beautiful designed sports car. Most collectors agree, when it comes to the six cylinder series, the 1967 XKE has both the XKE’s beauty attributes which include the covered headlights and has the best mechanical attributes for driving including the factory 4.2 litre engine and a 4-speed Syncromesh transmission.

The 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster in this ad is repainted in original Primrose Yellow with black Connolly leather by Barrett Interiors. It is a matching numbers 4.2 lire engine, car and body. The convertible top is mohair.

There have been several upgrades to this car including:

1968 4-speed gear box which is basically undetectable from a 1967.

A new radiator that never overheats.

All brake and clutch components bored and bronze sleeved.

Five redline lines.

A high torque starter (original starter in box goes with the car).

Electronic ignition system under the original distributor cap.

High voltage coil.

Metal header tank in stainless steel but looks like the original because it is painted in Hammermill Gray paint.

Retractable electric antenna.

This car has all its parts with an underside that many would call pristine.

The original Smith gauges and original Lucas alternator dial are all working.

The radio was rebuilt by a radio expert but over time the volume has gotten lower and lower until it is no longer working. It may be just a minor problem? The car comes with a Becker radio (currently not working).

The original clock is not working.

I do want to mention that it does have the three SU carburetors.

You are invited to look over the pictures and think you will be duly impressed by the excellent condition of this car in the highly desirable Primrose Yellow and Black leather interior combination. It can be shown or driven anywhere with great pride!

It does have an extremely low reserve so everybody should bid to win.(Please don’t ask reserve). The car has been kept in a climate controlled garage and only about 6,000 miles have been put on the car since restoration in the early 1990s.

What a great way to start the summer!
