Car description

This is a 1968 jaguar 4.2 liter ots 1.5 convertible..I am not the owner.. The seller is an old friend of mine that lives in Fla...he is an attorney in Miami..I have known him since 1972... he asked me to store the car for him back in 2003 or so because when his dad died they sold his house and wanted to store the car somewhere safe and for possible restoration ( here in Ga.at my place).; His father bought the car brand new in 1968. His father went to England in 1968 ( the English tag on the front is the original tag for this car in 1968) and drove the car there and had it sent to his home in Miami. Fla... His dad owned it till his death in 2000 or so.... His father was a dentist as you can see from the d.d.s. emblem on the rear next to the tag.. His father had 3 other cars and this was his play-toy.. with only 68000 miles on it now..my friend ( his son) was going to restore it but just never happened.. so now he has decided to sell it..It was in his fathers garage until it got here..it has been at my house covered and under shelter..since 2003..The car is all original as I can see.. From what I understand from the my friend; the a/c was installed when it arrived here in the u.s. car starts and runs but I believe the clutch hydraulics have failed since it has been here.. ( the clutch pedal is down on the floor with no pressure) could be the master or slave.. maybe the clutch itself... don't know, ut it does start up and runs......all is there as when he bought the car new..gauges... radio etc.. seems to work fine ( tach is erratic though)..a/c of course probably had the r12 which is now gone but the blower and a/c clutch does come on..the only rust I can see is in the trunk. which is not to bad.. the floor boards look fine... with little surface rust..no rust thru that I can see..the top is in unbelievable great shape. no tears..rips.. opens and closes fine.....the seat coverings are in unreal great condition.. no rips or tears..dash is in great shape.. console does has some wear or deterioration.. exhaust is complete and original and sounds fine...had one paint job because of a small bender years ago..drivers door has a little filler on it.. no filler found anywhere else.. paint is peeling in some areas.. as pictures shows...not a great paint job apparently..he also has the original paperwork from the salesman in England and the original shipping order papers etc.....spare tire rim is in great shape no rust on the spokes..top boot is fine but with one small 1/4 inch hole.... lots of pictures.. please ask questions. if needed... Thanx! . have lots more picts on photobucket.. will provide a link as soon as I figure this out...
