Impeccable and Irreplaceable '50 Jaguar

Movie star Clark Cable owned one and now you can too!BlueChip Motorcars presents this very elegant and wonderfully restored, atching numbered 1950 Jaguar XK120 roadster (also known as XK120 OTS in America).

When it first appeared in 1948 at the London Motor Show, he prototype of the two-seat XK120 caused such a sensation that Jaguar boss William Lyons went back to his offices and immediately put the car into production.

Today, he XK120 continues to excite Jaguar collectors. It was manufactured just a few short years - from 1948 to 1954, ut ultimately became a classic thanks to its performance heritage and stunning good looks.

This is a matching numbers XK120 with the Jaguar Heritage certificate. It is a prime example of the era, nd is certainly a rare find. Here is what we have learned about the car.

Jaguar originally delivered the car to U.S. Army Major Alan Fisher when he was assigned to duty in Dusseldorf, ermany. After Fisher completed his tour, e had the shipped back to his home in Stockton, alifornia.

Each of the owners since new have preserved the XK120 to the highest standards. In fact, he XK120 was excellently stewarded for more than 30 years by the previous owner, nd it drives beautifully.

This numbers matching California original Jaguar with 53,160 miles showing on the odometer has been refreshed in a stunning cream over cream color combination, ith maroon piping and maroon soft-top and side curtains. To give you an idea of how well this XK120 runs, he previous owner drove it from Arizona to Northern California in 2014, here it was featured in events during the week of the Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance. Again, n 2015 he drove it from Arizona to Southern California, here it became part of the BlueChip Motorcars' fleet of classics. This particular XK120 was also a featured exhibitor at the 2015 6thAnnual Greystone Mansion Concours d'Elegance in Beverly Hills, alifornia.

Additionally, his XK120 was ordered with unique chrome options, hich were not available in the later XK120 models. These "chrome plated" options included: bolt-on fender mounted side lights, assenger grip handle, ood and trunk lid support rod, ood and trunk lid support rod "keeper" clip, eat frames and convertible top support bows, ear window outside frame, arpet hold-down strip, ide curtain frames, teering column adjustable flat spring collar, runk light housing frame, runk light switch button, ounting plate and lever, nd the wheel embellisher "beauty" rims.

Even more amazing, he original black phenolic grease gun is still present, eld by two metal clips attached to the driver's side cowling near the glass reservoir for the brakes. The rear boot compartment not only has the spare tire, ack, lat jack ratchet handle, ug nut wrench and spat removal "Tee" tool, ut there also is the green cloth tool roll with some rare factory tools like sockets, panners and an adjustable wrench.

To compliment these original accessories, lueChip Motorcars holds the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, hich authenticates the originality of this true surviving Jaguar. Lastly, he owner's manual factory technical manual, tonneau cover, ind deflector wing windows, nd a side curtain storage bag accompany the car.

This '50 XK120 with VIN 670830 sports a beautifully maintained 3.4-liter, 60-bhp six-cylinder DOHC engine with the four-speed automatic. It is a steel bodied car, lthough this 1950 XK120 retained aluminum doors, onnet and boot lid. All XK120s featured independent torsion bar front suspension, emi-elliptic leaf springs at the rear, ecirculating ball steering, elescopically adjustable steering column and all-around 12-inch drum brakes.

As an interesting side note, he XK120 was the first car to ever exceed 100 mph for 7 days and 7 nights, overing a total of 16,852 miles. Incidentally, t was co-driven by none other than Sir Stirling Moss OBE.

With its well-documented heritage, tunning good looks, erfect driving manners and reputation for quality, his XK120 is fit for aficionado ready for a season of grand open air touring.

Due to human error... there are a few mistakes in the story.1) The 1950 XK120 as shown sports a Moss four-speed "manual" gearbox, ot automatic.2) The XK120 as presented actually has a single exhaust system. An image of a dual exhaust system was shown by mistake.
