Car description

1980 International Scout Traveler I have owned this Scout for about 3 years. I have a clean title and its numbers matching. I bought it locally and it had been used on a ranch for some time and needed a complete overhaul. I completely dissembled it to the frame and started sandblasting. sealing and rebuilding every item on it. This is not an exhaustive list but here has what has been done to it so far. If you have any questions call or text me 512 913-7566 Frame sandblasted and coatedOriginal 345 V8 motor completely torn down and rebuild including: -New Pistons -New Cam -New seals -Honed and sealed -Essentially it’s been made as new as it can be by a professional -The engine has not been started since rebuild but has been turned to lube everythingOriginal Heads -Crack checked. cleaned professionallyOriginal 727 automatic transmission -Completely disassembled and professionally rebuilt -New Seals Dana 20 transfer case -Completely disassembled and professionally rebuilt -New seals Brand new still in the box aluminum radiator Dana 44 front and rear axles -Disassembled checked and cleaned -New bearings and races throughout -Original gears however they showed very little if any wear. Mechanic said they looked new -Brand new Warn locking hubs installed on the front Dana 44 axle Brand new front and rear brakes installed -Front is disk -Rear is drum -New brake lines front to back are included but not installed -New parking brake line Carburetor -Disassembled and rebuilt -All new seals and a rebuild kit installed Engine mounts -Brand new and completely rebuildable Gas Tank -33 gallon. I had it disassembled and rebuilt at a welding shop. It was air checked and sealed. -New fuel sending unit -New electronic fuel pump -New fuel lines Tires Mickey Thompson 39” Baja Belted with Alcoa rims-used but in great shape-Currently the Scout has about a 14” lift due to new 4” Rough Country lift springs. and a spring over conversion however it can be converted to stock ride height with little work. The front Dana 44 axle has not had the C rotated and will need to be if you plan on keeping 4 wheel drive at this height. Body The body has not been touched at this time and will need to be redone; however it does come with the following: -New front floors -New inner and outer rocker panels -Excellent condition front inner and outer fenders -Good condition hood -Good condition Scout II tailgate and full lift gate for the Traveler -Good condition fiberglass top -Good condition windshield-no glass -Fair condition doors -All glass is good -I have great condition Scout II rear quarters that can be used to fix the existing rear quarters What you will need to finish this Scout: -Body work -I have not touched the steering -Brake lines installed -Need a distributor-I have one but not sure of condition -Necessary wiring for gauges etc. I am only selling as I no longer have room for this Scout and it takes up my entire garage right now. I have much more in this Scout than I am asking and I hope to see it go into good hands. If you need more pictures or info just let me know.
