Car description

21,000 miles on new factory crate engine26,000 on re-manufacturedtransmission
This is my 1986 GMC K1500 High Sierra 4wd long bed. I am the second owner of this truck. Please read everything. Most questions will be answered in the description. I also have a youtube video of me going over the truck. I can email you the link.
The truck was purchased new in Wyoming, where it spent all but the last few years. I purchased it from the original owner, who was a retired cattle rancher. When I bought it the truck was bone stock right down to the tire size and hubcaps, which I still have. Being a Wyoming truck, it is very solid. Not rusted out. The only changes I made from stock is a 2" lift kit, 33" BF Goodrich KO2 tires, and aluminum wheels. Other than that, everything is just like it was from the factory right down to the cassette deck radio. The truck has never been put through mud. Gravel logging roads is the extent of my using off road.
The original owner kept a log book of every fill up, oil change, and maintenance he did to the truck. It currently has 164,750 miles on it (I still use it on occasion). It had a new crate motor installed by a Chevy dealership at 143,450. It had a new transmission installed at 138,267 miles. There are a few areas of minor rust, but nothing major (see photos). Truck is SOLID for an old square body GM. It has a 5.0L 305ci motor and is all factory. Truck drives straight and smooth on the interstate and runs fantastic. NO LEAKS. There are never any drips under the truck.
I put a new stock 4-barrel quadrajet carb, mechanical fuel pump, new brakes front and rear, put new inner and outer bearings on the front, had the radiator professionally reconditioned, new upper and lower radiator hoses, new windshield, new windshield wiper motor, new trailer wiring, and new seat cover (waiting for it to come in). Tires and lift kit have about 5,000 miles on them and are like new. I also added a in-line electric fuel pump to prime the carb after it has been sitting more than a few days.
I also have a custom fit vinyl seat cover on order that will come with the truck. I just removed the old one as it was getting worn out.
The truck could use a few things. The biggest is the drivers door that I messed up. It will allow water to drip in during heavy rain. It also has a few spots of minor rust that could use fixing so they don't get any worse. The A/C works, but leaks so it needs to be fixed. The A/C clutch also doesn't disengage like it should. I put a switch on it to keep it turned off. The 700R4 transmission shifts into overdrive too early. Very common problem on these. B&M sells a governor kit that fixes it, but I never bothered with it.
Truck is super reliable. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. I am only selling because my family has grown and I would like to get something everybody can ride in.
