Car description

No Reserve Auction! This Woodie was owned in the 1970s and 1980s by an actor who starred in Rocky Horror Picture Show, Grease the Musical Play, TV Show 'Spin City', TV Detective Show 'Foul Play', and many other shows and productions.
You are bidding on a 1946 Ford Super DeLuxe Station Wagon that has been a true survivor! A cosmetic restoration was done in the mid 1970s with paint, varnish and whatever was needed at the time to freshen up an original 1946 Ford Woodie and then was enjoyed until the car was sold at the 1985 Los Angeles Rick Cole Auction. The purchaser was a Pasadena, California businessman who drove it for four years, and then placed it in his collection where it was on display until three years ago.
To awaken the car from a 30 year slumber, the original distributor, carburetor, starter and generator were all rebuilt. A new replacement fuel pump, coil, plugs, wires, battery, voltage regulator, gas tank sending unit, and more items were installed. It features the original 100 HP Flathead V8 engine that was built for the car, with matching stamped numbers on the engine block, frame rail, factory riveted cowl tag, all matching the California title. Engine runs smooth, no smoke or knocks.Three speed manual shift transmission, Motorola radio and heater not working, speedometer, odometer, wipers, not working, Ford script fog, spot lights and other accessories not working. Head, tail, backup, turns signals working, horn works, four other gauges are working, original locking steering column, Fulton Sun Shade, metal spare tire cover, rear rock shield, and super rare coach style roof luggage cargo rack, accessory grill guard, bumper guards, and bumper wing tips. Some chrome loss on plated parts. Odometer reads 47,339 miles, but true mileage unknown.

Wood varnish has peeling, flaking off and has been getting a Watco oil treatment to keep the original look. Mostly Ford OG glass, but some has been replaced. Overall paint is good, right rear fender has poor repair/repaint, some paint loss on left rear fender. Front floor pan has some rust through from wet shoes, leaking cowl seal and heater core. Repairable without panel replacement. Rear, middle and back floors all solid.
Brakes are functioning, however they need refreshing to be road worthy. Included are four new replacement wheel cylinders, new master, soft lines, seals, and hardware kit. Also NOS choke cable, glove box lock, NOS rear fender mouldings, and some old Ford tools.

Keep in mind this a running car, however it was done in the 1970s, stored from 1990 to 2017. I recommend that bidders inspect the car to satisfy themselves as to condition. Expect that many items will need to be serviced, replaced, repaired as would be on any vintage car.

The car is sold in its present 'as is' condition here in Huntington Beach CA.
Payment to be made by bank wire (B of A, Wells Fargo, etc.) and funds confirmed prior to the release of the car.

Please email with any questions and we can get the answers you need. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel this listing at any time. The documentation from the previous owners will be furnished to the new owner.
