One of the finest examples of a 1939 Deluxe Tudor Sedans you will find. Looks, starts, runs, drives, stops, and feels like it just left the dealership. A genuine pleasure to drive. Smooth acceleration, solid/dependable braking, and very accurate alignment, along with a VERY comfortable ride.
I purchased the car approximately 19 years ago. I wasn't really interested in this era of cars at the time, but when I saw this car, I fell in love with it, and knew I had to have it. After enjoying it for only a year (we started a family) I felt the need to gift it to my dad in appreciation for everything he and my mom had done for me over the years. My dad loved the car, and enjoyed and cared for it until his health recently prohibited him from driving the car. I re-took possession of the car in September of this year. As much as I still love and appreciate how special this car is, I simply do not have the time to enjoy it. Therefore, it's time for someone else to enjoy it.
I believe the photos speak very clearly of the condition of the car. The car has enjoyed an older, frame-off restoration that has held up incredibly well. During restoration, glass packs were added to the exhaust. The modified exhaust gives it a really nice, suttle "crackle", and I love how it sounds, but obviously, this is not original or correct. Also, my dad felt the need to add turn signals for safety. I can't say I was happy to see this (at all!) as I am the purist type. Actually, these are not currently working. I have not looked into it all, because if I were keeping the car, I would remove them, and I expect the future owner to do the same. There are 2 or 3 paint chips, but they are all in inconspicuous places, like low corners, etc. I have several more photos for anyone with serious interest, and of course, I will include photos of these chips. I would say 9 out of 10 people who would look at the car would not even notice them. I should add that any photos of the wood grain dashboard that show what look like scratches, are not scratches, but actually reflections from the sun/light. The wood grain/dashboard is beautiful!
I have quite a bit of documentation and sales information that will go with the car, including what appears to be an original 1939 Ford "reference book" and several, original "The Flathead" (Ford-Mercury Club of America) issues from the 1980s.
Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. I will do my best to answer them. Also, please let me know if you would like additional photos.
I have title in hand.
Please note: EBay requires an entry for "mileage". The mileage listed is what the odometer showed at the time the photo was taken (just prior to listing). However, this is, obviously, not the original mileage. The actual mileage is unknown. I believe this mileage is the mileage since restoration was completed.
I require a $500 non-refundable deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of auction end. The balance of the purchase price must be WIRED to my bank within 7 days of auction end, and the funds would have to be confirmed prior to releasing the car. Sorry, NO cashiers checks will be accepted.
Of course, with any/all vehicles, a potential buyer is strongly encouraged to inspect any vehicle prior to purchase.General Terms
