Car description

Ford Thunderbird . Condition is Used. selling my 1955 Ford Thunderbird. This is a very early Bird, built in October 195four.VIN is P5FH1002eight1. Production code is: 6KS-1439.I replaced the worn-out 292 with a Ford 351 cleveland engine and C4 transmission. The engine has been rebuilt with new piston rings, re-ground crankshaft and .010'' rod and main bearings, cam bearings, HV oil pump, rear-sump oil pan, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and new 750 Holley carburetor, Howard's hydraulic camshaft with new lifters. the cam has 215 intake and 225 exhaust duration and .530" lift. It idles with just a little lope, very good sounding and performing engine. New water pump, fuel pump, 12 volt alternator, battery, starter, electronic ignition and distributor. It also has a new aluminum radiator and thermostat controlled electric fan. Never had gotten over 2008 for me in hot summer traffic. The C4 transmission has been modified for manual shifting and really makes driving the car more fun. The rear end has new axle and pinion seals. It is a 3.31:1 ratio gearset. Very nice for cruising. The car has new shocks, new dual master brake cylinder from a 1972 Mustang. It has new brake lines, hoses, wheel cylinders, brake lining. new rear spring shackles and front and rear bushings have been installed. It has Block-hugger headers and new exhaust front to rear. Sounds great coming out the Tbird bumper outlets. The Tbird has had new floors, inner and outer rockers, rear lower quarter panels, trunk floor installed. Head and tail lights work as do the brake lights and turn signals. The fuel guage works, but the oil and temp were 6 volt so I installed new gauges at the bottom of the dash.New speedometer cable has been installed but I am too old to get under the dash to hook it up! The floor mounted shifter is from a 1972 Mustang, works fine. The car has new tires and new Torque thrust 11 wheels, 15".The car comes with it's original fiberglass roof with good glass, no cracks or defects. it could use a new headliner.
PLEASE NOTE! The doors do not fit very well and do not look very good. They close okay but there is a 1/4" to 3/8" gap at the lower rear of each door. So if you don't like that, don't bid. I just want to be clear.ALSO, THE POWER WINDOWS DID WORK, BUT ARE not working NOW.
The paint is decen, some scratches and small dents from being my daily driver. It is a 50 footer! The bumpers have not been replated and need it. especially the rear bumper. look at the pictures. The engine has been set back to the firewall to shift the weight to the rear. look at the pictures. It is a good car to drive, but not show quality at all. Come drive it home or arrange for shipping. Thanks for your bids and please feel free to ask any questions. I want you to be happy with this Thunderbird as I have. THE S/N IS P5FH100281. EBAY will not let me enter the S/N in the normal box,
