1964 ½ Mustang Convertible Rare D-Code 289/ 4bbl 225HP engine Rare 4-speed Transmision (console) Power Convertible Top Spinner Hubcaps Original Interior Unrestored Original Best 1964 ½ Available History: 2015 marks the 50th Anniversary for the Mustang. This is a very early 1964 ½ Mustang that was built on May 11th. 1964. The car was special ordered and sold to Mrs. Mary Anne Simpson on May 21st. 964. The car was bought from Carolina Motor Company in Statesville. NC. The car has some very rare options including The D-code 289 engine. 4-Speed transmission. Console. Seat Belts. Power Top. Tinted glass. Trunk rack. and Spinner Hubcaps. Mrs. Simpson held ownership of the car until 1981 when David Cook Purchased the car. He purchased the car with 21k miles on the odometer. David drove it sparingly and drove it a mere 6k miles in his 34 years of ownership. He held ownership until 2015. During his course of ownership. He meticulously maintained the car. Replacing parts with Original Ford parts only. David had the car repainted in 1980’s and it still looks great. At that time he replaced the bumpers only with NOS Ford Bumpers. Every nut and bolt is Genuine Ford parts right done to the Fomoco Head Lights. The interior on the car is the original and is in outstanding condition. The only imperfections on the whole interior is the the stitching on the front seats are starting to spread. All Power Options and Accessories work as they did when new. This car drives as close to new as you can have an original car. It Starts up with the touch of the key. It runs so smooth and powerful. The Four speed Transmission shifts smoothly. The radio. heater. Power Top etc all work well. The car has two Convertible Top Boots. The one in the trunk is the original Boot and has not been removed from the original black bag. As far as documentation goes. the car has the original Owners Manual. Within the Manual. The Original Ford Dealership wrote in the Service Records in the booklet. All the Original Owners Information is in the book as well. This is a very amazing Mustang and one of the first Mustangs ever built.
