Car description

A 13-window, 6-door, Robins Egg Blue Ford E-100 302 Shorty.. is rare in ANY condition. This survivor draws attention and gets many compliments. It is in relatively nice condition because it's an original New Mexico vehicle (dry climate), with a mere 3-owner history.
Blue Castle Automotive in Albuquerque, NM, has completed most of the mechanical work on the vehicle for current owner.

Summary

This vehicle originally spent it's life in dry Albuquerque, NM, an now resides in even drier southern New Mexico. This treasure was purchased by the current owner in 2013 when a restoration of mechanical components was begun, including the professionally rebuilt engine. Many other components were checked, restored and replaced as needed including the upgraded electronic ignition.

As seen in the images, bodywork has not been carried out, rust is evident around the wheels and lower body areas. The vehicle has had minor hits on the front driver & passenger corners, which have not been repaired. The rebuild project stalled at around 2015 when the owner purchased a small farm in rural southern NM.Structurally and mechanically the van is in strong, survivor condition.

The vehicle drives nicely. Engine is very strong and transmission is sound. Manual steering & brakes provide the vintage feel of the early vehicles.Paint is ORIGINAL, highly desirable Ford “Robins Egg Blue” showing a highly desirable patina. The driver and passenger seats are the originals - the optional bench seat is not original yet is very convenient when camping as it folds down into a bed. The van is as intended - useful, fun, and super groovy. It has received countless complements and several offers to purchase.

Images of specific areas of the van can be provided - simply let me know exactly what else you need to see. Thanks for looking..

History

•Original registered owners in Albuquerque, NM.Purchased in 1970 by previous owner's grandfather.
•Vehicle is now registered in NM with Horseless Carriage Plates. Clean and clear title of current, third registered owner.

Mileage

•Mileage is indicated at 32,818 on the odometer (perhaps ~150,000 actual). Van was seldom driven over the past 15 years.
•Brake drums on the van have only moderate wear (have been turned/honed) and were completely rebuilt in 2014.

Body

Super short 105.5” wheelbase - hence, this is a true "Shorty"; Robins Egg Blue color on a rare 13-window E-100, relatively straight throughout. Undercarriage condition indicates the van has been in a dry climate.
Front driver fender has taken a minor hit and has not been repaired. There are other "bumps & bruises" here and there (see pics).
Rust:Overall, the body is sound condition - vintage, desirable patina. Underside is clean and has the expected surface rust.

Engine

OVERHAULED original Ford 302 V8 in 2014. Balanced & Blueprinted - bored .0020 over. Less than 600 miles on rebuilt engine.
Rebuilt 2x Barrel Motorcraft Carburetor, with NEW Electronic Ignition & 850 CCA battery
.

Transmission

REBUILT Ford C6 during previous owner's ownership, around 2010. Likely less than 3,000 miles on rebuilt transmission.

Rear Axle & Drivetrain

NEW universal joints, with sound & strong rear axle. Has hard-to-find original dog dish hubcaps to finish off this groovy ride.
