Car description

1936 Henry Steel Ford Rumble Seat Cabriolet

This car was a barn find in 2013. It was in great condition and was ready to bepurchased and restored to original or built as a streetrod. The overall condition was amazing as it was a rustfree car that had been primed by the previous owner. We selected this particular car since it had most of the parts intact. We made the decision to build this into a driving streetrod. We enjoy traveling country wide to car shows and events and thought this would be a good future for the car.

The car was transported for building, a custom chassis was ordered and the plans begin to transpire. We have included photos of the car in the barn prior to purchase, as well as, the chassis as it was removed from the body.

This is the best way to demonstrate the quality of this car. Photos were taken under, inside and all around the car.

The body was removed from the chassis, the new chassis was delivered with a mustang II front end, disc brakes, 9" Ford rear endetc. The project began to take shape. A 350 Chevy Engine was installed along with a 700R AutomaticTransmission with Overdrive. There were no expenses spared in this build as we wanted it to be correct. The body was reinstalled on the new chassis and the build continued. Many new components were added to the car beginning with dynamat insulation, chrome steering column with tilt wheel, Walker radiator, Vintage Air Conditioning and Heating, Classic Instruments Gauges, Custom Dual Exhaust, etc.The list goes on and on.

After the engine was in tact, a custom bow was installed for the new convertible top and the car was sent toChristian Romero of Romero's Upholstery in Loganville. The custom split bench seat was installed and the car's interior project was completed in tawny tan leatherette with leather snake skin inserts. The carpeting was done in midnight blue to match the Honda Obsidian Blue Exterior Paint with tawny tan leatherette trim. The new canvas top was installed as well. The car return to the professional builder to get the newly re chromed bumpers, exterior and interior hardware and LED lighting.

Custom artillery wheels were made by WheelSmith of California. The tires are wide whitewalls by Diamondback of South Carolina. The car has an awesome look which often surprises many when they find it has a heartbeat for power. It has the spare tire component on the rear and a beautiful operable rumble seat.

We are selling the car due to the fact that our Grandson cannot ride in it. Young children cannot ride in a front nor in a rumble seat. We are sad to be selling the car but realize how important it is to take a young child to car shows and keep the classic car spirit alive.

We welcome all questions thru the Ebay Messaging system. The car is located in Georgia. We are willing to work with your shipper at your expense. Thank you for taking the time to view our listing.
