Car description

1968 Ford Mustang Fastback – Shelby Tribute I bought a perfectly good 1968 Fastback about 5 years ago. There was nothing wrong with the car. and you know how much they cost. I took the car to a local body shop where it was taken apart. It was taken down to the metal. The rear quarters were replaced. The Shelby body parts were installed. The rear extensions and the front light buckets were fiberglass in place. There are no seams. Then all of the pieces were painted separately and reinstalled. Everything on the outside is new except the door handles and the stainless around the glass. The side windows and rear glass are original to the car as far as I know. I replaced the front windshield. Please. look at the pictures carefully. In the interior. I installed a new headliner. seat upholstery. dash. visors. dash cluster. carpet. kick panels. Shelby inserts. shifter and bezel. and new steering wheel. I used the original chrome pieces for the folder down seat and latches. I used the original transmission. rear end and the engine that came in the car. The engine is a 1969 351 Windsor with a mild cam according to the previous owner. I replaced the lifters. intake. valve covers. installed a Holley carburetor with an electric choke. starter. alternator. fuel pump. voltage regulator. starter solenoid. master cylinder. power steering. control valves. and hoses. I don’t think there is anything that has not been replaced. The car has drum brakes with new shoes. liner. and wheel cylinders. The gas tank and sending unit are new. The tires and wheels are new. I installed a new exhaust and front shocks. The rear air shocks were on the car when I purchased it. The floors and frame rails are rust free. The floor panels were replaced before I purchased the car. Not the prettiest work. but very solid. The paint is good with no chips or dings. The car runs great. The transmission changes good. and the car is fun to drive. The only thing wrong with the car is an oil leak and transmission leak. The leak is not bad. but you will see a spot when it sits for awhile. The body shop said they fixed the cowl. but the passenger side still leaks a little. The car stays in the garage. and I put a towel over the vent when I wash the car. Please. call me with any questions about the car. 434-724-2364 or 434-441-0169. I am sure I missed something but will answer all of your questions. If you drive this car. you will get more attention than you ever imagined. People stop me all the time just to take pictures.
