Description

Well documented, this excellent 20,562 actual mile example #KK-NASCAR 1881 Vin#9F02Z198789 was built on 05/29/69 at the Dearborn, Michigan plant, released on 06/20/69, delivered to Colonial Ford/Mercury Inc in Ripon, WI and retail delivered new on 07/17/69 for $4,926.00 plus TL. The 4th owner of the car purchased it in the early 80's, noting in an included letter to the BOSS 429 directory: "I am the 4th owner of KK 1881, yet car is all original with 17,000 true miles. 80% original paint, 100% interior, tires paperwork etc. only detailing was necessary for show entry." Included in an August 1991 Modern Times magazine article the same owner describes his "Cream Puff" purchase and describe his meticulous thorough restoration/preservation noting that "Absolutely nothing has been overlooked during the costly 2 year restoration, and all that hard work has continuously paid off at car shows with numerous first place trophies." Currently this very rare and well presented low mile BOSS-429 Mustang rests in a very large Texas Automotive Collection. Please refer to our 120+ photo set for referenced/included documents and visual verification of component identification numbers. This is an exceptional car with absolutely NO Excuses...

Fun Facts: The Ford "BOSS-9" Mustang was built specifically to satisfy the NASCAR homologation rule and meet Grand National racing requirements. These cars were assembled at the Ford Rouge plant with a 428 Cobra Jet power-train and subsequently shipped to Kar-Kraft in Brighton, Michigan where they would receive the required modifications including the Boss 429 engine up-grade, spring towers modified forward 1", A-Arms lowered 1", flare front fenders (due to increased tire size F60x15), trunk mounted battery, power steering cooler, oil cooler and then shipped back to Ford for completion...

During this process, all cars received a 4 digit KK NASCAR specific ID number/door jamb label and were further identified with vehicle identification numbers stamped on the engine block & transmission, consequently the BOSS cars are one of the few Mustangs that you can actually match the original engine/transmission with the original car. During the 1969 model year only 859 of these powerful Mustangs were produced with Kar Kraft numbers KK NASCAR 1201 through 2059...
