Car description

1969 Ford Fairlane, 302 V8 with Monster Transmission Ford AOD (overdrive), professionally installed by respected KC hot rod shop. Column was smoothed, removing shifter and floor mounted shifter is all Lokar equipment. Aluminum Griffin radiator, aluminium Edelbrock 4bbl intake with Edelbrock 600 cfm carb. Car has been lowered with new springs (not cut springs or worn out leafs) and new suspension also professionally installed by same shop. Air shocks in rear have leak which drains after about 4-5 days. Hood has Cobra hood scoop with hole cut and feeding air into K&N Vortex air filter (top and sides). Flowmaster mufflers exit out each side ahead of the rear wheels; all work professionally done. Pinstripe is getting a little old and shows small chips in some spots. Paint is 10 footer - not bad but not perfect. Interior has rubber floors and floor mats. Seats are bench, in good shape and front seats have matching console. Dash has cracks; I have a replacement dash if you're interested. Car comes with California Car Cover brand cover. Tires are Coker Classics radials and wheels are Astro Supremes; both made in USA and the highest quality with less than 2000 miles on them.
I've had the car for 8 years - found it in New Mexico (Las Cruces area) where it spent it's whole life. Very minimal rust, a little around the bottom of the tailgate on the inside. I can't find any evidence of the car ever being in an accident; all the factory spot welds are there and the sides are smooth, doors shut like they should including the tailgate (3 way tailgate - opens like a truck tailgate and like a door from the side). Car starts and idles great, cruises down the road with overdrive all day and doesn't overheat. The AC doesn't work and the heater core leaks so it's been bypassed. The car really doesn't need anything else. The car was professionally appraised for insurance in 2014 for $15,000. Since that time I've put $5k into the car not including regular maintenance.
I'm selling because I'm switching up hobbies and want the car to go to someone who will enjoy it as much as I have. It wins trophies regularly but i didn't enter it in many shows. It won Best Long Roof at 2018 Greaserama which is my proudest automotive achievement!(trophy stays with me - it's way cool). Car is being sold locally and on other websites so auction may end early.
