When it comes to vintage automobiles, California and the West Coast of the United States have always been the most desirable the world over for many reasons; the mild climate and the fact that many automotive trends started in California. The automobile is the perfect technological symbol of American culture, a tangible expression of our quest to level space, time, and class and a reflection of our relentless mobility, social and otherwise. You see automobiles advertised the world over described as California cars because at some point they were in California or drove through California. A true California car is one that was sold new in California and titled in California, one that has the original plates that are on that title is a true California car.We are liquidating a collection of 300 actual California cars.

1973 Ford F-100 reg cab solid rust free cab and bed

Up for bid is an 1973 Ford F-100 133" wb standard bed pickup that has spent most of her life sitting in a barn in Bakersfield California. It does not presently run and was acquiredprimarilyfor the cab and the bed to be used on a 4x4 F-250. This truck is being sold as a roller parts truck not as a running and driving truck. If you are restoring a rusted and dented Highboy you could buy cheap quality Chinese made reproduction panels and have a pieced together American truck with Asian parts or the real deal with Ford made OEM parts. It would be difficult to duplicateoriginal old man patina from Kern county . This truck was built in California at the San Jose assembly plant in Milpitas California. It was ordered by a dealer in Bakersfield and sold to an old man who stopped driving years a go and it has sat. This is a base model Custom ½ ton reg cab long bed pickup which shares the exact 133 inch wheelbase as the 1973-1979 Ford F-250. This truck is a 2wd with just one option a 302-V8 and the standard 3-speed manual on the column. It does have the same 3 pedals used for a 4 speed manual. The rubber on the pedals and the rubber floor show an overall lack of use. At some point many years ago the truck developed a carburetor issue thatwas neveraddressedand it was parked in a barn for decades. It has never left California and was brought from Bakersfield to Oakland where it was again parked in a building where it now sits. This 133-inch wheelbase has a very solid rust-free Cab and bed and would fit perfectly on the high boy frame the only difference is the high boy has a narrower frame and new holes would need to be re drilled as the2wd and the fuel tank on the F250 would need to be fitted into the cab of the F-100 as well.

This truck is being sold as a NON RUNNING roller and is being sold with a bill of sale as the title was lost years ago. This truck wasorderedSequoia Brown Metand is a true original Rust Free California Survivor that has been stored for many years in dry Kern county outside of Bakersfield.

The 1973 F-100 is a basic truck which overtime has become a parts truck which has had OEM pieces robbed off the old girl. Specifically theoriginal bench seat and when an old highboy with a snow plow needed an original grill and shell and bumper it was also removed as well as a few lug nuts otherwise she is a very solid cab and bed the way Ford built it. It would be nearly impossible to find an original San Jose built Highboy with a body and bed like you see here and would be worth a lot of money. This truck has been out off the California DMV system for several decades and has no record. It is being sold with a bill of sale.

If you wanted to bring this back to it's original glory as a 2WD half ton with a 302 and 3 on the tree I am sure with a new carb, grill and bumper this could be fun little project either way it is being sold this week for NO RESERVE and an opening bid of $100

We are not looking for any projects as selling off this collection is enough of a project
