1990 Mustang LX 5.0 SSP

1990 Mustang LX 5.0 Special Service Package Ex-Missouri State PatrolThis 1990 Mustang LX SSP was used by the Missouri State Highway Patrol as unit #P-0162 with Plate 642-HP. It was assigned to Troop A, and used by Cpl. Londell Jamerson and Tpr. Juan Villanueva for traffic enforcement and drug interdiction. It was in service from 3-14-90 until 5-20-92. As rare as this car is it is only 1 of 4 that came in the Twilight Blue. This is the only one left of the four Twilight Blue units MSHP ordered in 1990. The other 3 were lost in highway pursuits.
There is lots of documentation including the original maintenance log, owner's manual, bid spec sheets, dealer invoice and more. It has been fully restored form the ground up and equipped to the look it had when in service with Missouri State Patrol with most of the exact same equipment.
It is equipped with a Missouri State Patrol markings, Code 3 lightbar, wig-wag lights, MPH S-80 radar, Code 3 siren/controller and GE radio. The unusual external mount of the lightbar cable down the driver side A pillar is the was all Missouri State Patrol units are wired. Missouri State Patrol units are taken out of service with less than 50k miles and sold to local departments. Wiring the lightbar this way eliminates the need to drill holes. All antennas are clip-on mounted.
As you flip through the impressive documentation that comes with this car you will find a Marti Report, CarFax, order sheets for the State Patrol from Shawnee Mission Ford from March 14, 1990 when they ordered only 16 SSP Mustangs! You will find plenty of service records and several in service pictures of this car.
This SSP began its life as a marked car and later became an unmarked unit used for drug interdiction. There are several pictures of the car marked and unmarked that come with this unit.
As clean as this car looks on the outside the bottom side is just as clean. This car is in excellent mechanical condition and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. The wheels and the quarter trim are two things that really stand out to me as far as how excellent shape they are in compared to other Mustang. They are in almost perfect shape! The bottom side of this car is super clean as well!
This is your chance to own a very rare, very highly documented SSP. This car was done right with as much attention to detail as possibe. The car is as close to in service conditions as possible. This is a very fun car to drive that gets looks everywhere you go and you cant pull up to a gas station without a crowd gathering around to ask questions and to look inside. I have had this at several Mustang shows and it has the biggest group of people standing around it every time!
