In order to build the Ultimate 1933 Ford Roadster you have to start out withthe very best chassis....and that can only be a "Pete andJakes" complete custom chassis!
Established in 1974 in Temple City, California,Pete &Jakeshas built a reputationas "THE" premiere manufacturers of hot-rod custom parts, complete chassis and suspensions.
This engineering marvel starts with a complete custom Pete & Jakes chassis.
To have the ultimate in a custom flathead engine, you have to go to the man who has been buildingcustom flathead engines in Mount Vernon, Washington since the 1960's....DaveTatom.
When it comes to the very bestcustom in quality built flathead engines.....DaveTatomis "The Man"
This 255cid Flathead generates close to 300HP. It has been lightly bored and stroked to 255 cubic inches.
It has been balanced, blueprinted, and has the proper clearances. It has been fitted with a custom setof cylinder heads that havebeen ported, polished and relieved.
A custom ground camshaft works it's magicon the valve train.
TheEFIsystem was built byAutotrend. Three Auto Trend onebarrelcarbswith throttle bodies were manufactured tolook likeStromberg97's but do a much more efficient job without any of the drawbacksof the originalStromberg97's.
This engine was sent to DaveEhrlichin California who did a masterfuljob of fine tuning this motor.
A gorgeous set of polished stainless steel exhausts help this flathead breath and the sparkis provided by a Mallory ignition.
To keep this engine running cool at all times, a custom aluminum radiator and electriccooling fan keep this flathead running nice and cool regardless of the traffic conditions.
Some of the other great refinements and components are the the 1949 Banjo steering wheel, the 1932 Dash and Stewart Warner instruments, a Ford 9" rear with a Curry 4:11posi-tractionand coil overs.
This 33 features a Super Bell drop axle, a 2" drop windshield andWilwoodfront disc brakesand Buick front brake cooling covers. The brake lines of course are stainless steel.
The smooth shifting Borg Warner T-5 five speed manual transmission enables this 33 to be ablast to drive, whether in the City or cruising on a super Highway at 75mph.
A Wilwood slave cylinder is utilized in the operation of the clutch.
What about the incredible paint job on this mechanical work of art?
More than 20 combinations of PPG paint were custom blended before this incredibletwo tone was finalized. I have only seen the two shades of this color combinationon one other car. It was more than 20 years ago on a 1933 Dusenberg that won it'sclass at the Concurs d'Elegance at Pebble Beach, California.
To really appreciate just how gorgeous this car is, you need to see it in person and in the sun light. In one word "SPECTACULAR"
The undercarriage. Simply stated.....like no other 1933 Ford Roadster we have ever seen.Every component is either stainless, chromed or polished. This car was built over a two yearperiod with a blank checkbook. Just over $200,000 was spent from start to finish and withless than 200 miles since completion, this is a brand new car. It can be yours for afraction of the cost it took to create.
