Car description

1967 Ford Mustang Fastback GTA S-Code

Description

1967 Ford Mustang Fastback GTA S-Code 390 San Jose Built, Deluxe Interior. ONLY HAS 39,782 Original Miles!!! Original Matching numbers Car, Original Interior, Original Engine and trans has never been rebuilt, second paint job, Was a CA car until this last year. No visible rust, has stayed in a dry climate since the 70s!

I purchased this car in October 2011 from the original owner. San Jose built and originally purchased from Veys Ford in Torrance CA. The first owner lived in Redondo Beach when purchasing and then moved to Yucca Valley CA in the late 70s. The car was then parked on blocks in 1991 after the passenger side front tire blew damaging the fender. It was started intermittently until the early 2000s. Upon purchasing it in late 2011 I went through and replaced most wearable items like: Tires, Brake lines, Fuel lines, Fuel pump, Master cylinder & booster, rebuilt brakes, rear shocks, battery cables, belts, hoses, fluids, tranny pan and filter, plugs & wires, carb rebuild, cap/rotor with pertronix, front end bushings, fan clutch, thermostat, heater core, heater plenum, ect. I also replaced the damaged fender with another used oem fender because the original was damaged beyond a reasonable repair. When the tire blew it not only damaged the fender but it also caused the rocker panel molding, headlight and GTA emblem to fall off. According to the original owner the tire came apart on the freeway at speed and the parts lost were left on the roadway at the time. I always intended to have the car repainted back to its original Nightmist blue so I had the fender shot in a similar color with a 2 part paint, hence the reason why it's mismatched. When I acquired the car it had a custom rear shackle lift with larger tires to give it a drag look but I put it back to stock.

Here is a list of mods done by the original owner:

  • OEM 1969 Shaker hood scoop (Still has the original rubber with the drip hose!)
  • Hone Overdrive
  • Dual side exhaust
  • Coil
  • Removed the internals of the smog pump
  • Front shocks

Original seats are not split, headliner, dash pad, carpet, console, radio ect. The interior is in amazing shape for being 52 years old. The seat backs and kick panels are cracked. I am including some NOS OEM kick panels. AM radio still works. Original jacking instructions still on the trunk. Has a service sticker on the doorjamb stating it had 34,200 miles in 2/1984. Was painted a lighter custom blue in the 1980s. I have driven the car 866 miles since I have owned it. always garaged and babied to retain the originality.

It is hard enough finding a matching numbers S-Code but how about one that's never been restored and this original!!! There are plenty of restored cars out there that were probably pulled out of some field or barn back east with half the metal replaced and who knows what done to it by a "renowned" restorer that employs $10 an hour labor.......This car takes all the guesswork out of it. It is ORIGINAL with 1 known history. I have pictures of where it sat when I purchased it. Have a folder of receipts, old registration cards, original ownership docs as pictured, and the original CA plates. Also have most of the original parts I replaced.

I hold a clean clear CA title on hand in my name since 2011. I will accept cash in person or a bank wire, bank wires will be given a 48 hour hold until fully cleared before the vehicle is released. I encourage potential buyers to come see this car in person, I am 45 min north of the Phoenix Airport fly in and Uber over. I am in NO HURRY to sell the car.
