Car description

Available for auction is a 1983 Ford Mustang GT rolling fox-body chassis. I am the original owner of this vehicle, and this was my daily driver for about 10 years. During this time it was modified with a full Global West suspension (without Tracklink), also installed were welded-in subframe connectors also by Global West (Doug at Global West performed the install). These are the full-length subframe connectors wtih the rocker rail support kit. In the mid-90s I decided to build this into a race car and carefully stripped it to the bare shell, and removed all undercoating and sound deadening. The windshield was removed (it had a crack) in preparation for a roll cage install. The project got put on the back burner in the late 90s and was stored in my brother's garage until just recently. I had to take it out of his garage and my only place to store it is in my driveway under a weather proof car cover. This is a great chassis to build a race car, or to rebuild your damaged fox Mustang.

Mileage is 105,677. This chassis is completely stipped of parts as shown. The suspension, brakes, and wheelsare OE Ford items,10" front discs and rear drums, 3.08, 7.5" rear axle,15x7 Mustang LX phone-dial wheels, parts that were installed to get it rolling. The original brake master cylinder is included. but there are no chassis brake lines. The front cowl grill is missing, as well as the rear quarter window trim panels, these parts are not included. Also there are no front or rear bumper covers, no head and tailights, no side mirrors, and no side moldings or emblems. Thesteering rack is the 20:1 high-effort power-steering rack mounted with Global West delrin bushings.

The interior is stipped, thereare no dash or interior panels. The steering shaft, pedals, and parking brake lever areincluded, and the original keys and ignition switch. Paint is still in very good condition. There is no front windshield as shown. The other windows are included, the rear window has some very old tint that has bubbled but the window itself is fine. The doors have no window motors or lock cylinders.

The car is completely straight, it has never been crashed. There is damage on the roof, aGerman Shepardjumped onto the car anddented the roof panel. The front of the hood has a small ding. The left front fender had a fender bender and was replacedwith a non-OE part and it later formed a small crack in the top front inside corner by the hood gap. The rear hatchhas holes where a wing was mounted, and the hood has holes where the factory hood scoop attached. This is a southern California car, other than some slight surface rust on the exposed interior parts as shown in the pictures, there is no rust on the body.

Take a look at the pictures, the car is very clean but it is completely stripped. There is nothing included other than what is shown. The floor pan is solid, there are no cracks on the seat rails or torque boxes. The Global West subframe connectors were the best mod that I did to the car, it completely solidified the chassis and was noticeable as soon as I drove the car away from Global Westwhich at the time was inRialto. They are a very low profile, ladder design. This was never raced. I was going to build it intoaSilver State Classic racecar but it would make a great car for any form of racing, or to rebuild a damaged street car.

I've hadthis carfrom the beginning of the 5.0 era before 5.0s really took off. I have no room in my garage and it being on my driveway, it really guttedme when that dog jumped onto the roof and dented it. This car is patiently sitting on my driveway for a new owner who can really give this car a new life. I'd still like to build it and it would be cheaper and easier now than when I started the project 25 years ago but I have to it let go so I'm offering it here at a low price. The registation has been non-operational since the 90s and the title is 100% clear, pink slip is in hand.
