Car description

If your planning on buying and restoring a mustang in this price range, consider this pony, why spend good money on a mustang to restore with either a 6 cylinder or a missing or non-original engine no options or originality to it. check out the specs and options on this candidate really good bones and a list of desirable factory options.
1966 mustang coupe, original C-code 289 V-8, factory air, factory center console, bucket seats, factory power steering, factory vinyl top.
This mustang was brought in by one of our customers, originally out of Missouri came up to mass in early 80's and was put in a garage till a couple years ago.
First thing I noticed on this survivor was, it had never been painted or taken apart, when I popped the hood every factory nut, clip, tag was still in place I then noticed wires, battery cables, etc, all looked new. Some fresh gas and a new battery and my remote starter, I hooked the cables up and all the lights came on windshield wipers started running, the heater fan was on and the radio! It was hilarious like Christine! I shut everything off spun the motor a few times didn't start popped the cap which was new (30 years ago), filed the points a little, re-gapped them, hit the button once motor roared to life and sounds pretty dam good.
So my guess is the original owner must have just tuned her up right before the car was put away they also put four new tires on it at the time we found the receipt in the glove box they still hold air except for one with a slow leak. It also had a pocket bible in the glove box! (Missouri Bible Belt!).
VIN on car is 6R07C234665 translates to year (6)1966, (R) BUILT IN SAN JOSE CALIF., (07) HARDTOP, (C) 289 V-8, (234665), SEQUENTIAL UNIT #
BODY:(65A), 2 DOOR HARTOP STANDARD INTERIOR, COLOR: (K) NIGHTMIST BLUE METTALIC, TRIM: (22) LT. BLUE CRINKLE VINYL AND BLUE ROSETTE VINYL, STANDARD INTERIO, DATE BUILT: (20G) July 20, 1966 (D.S.O.) St. Louis, AXLE: (6) 2.80:1, Conventional, TRANS: (6) C4 Automatic
Car needs full restoration obviously, but after inspection has really good bones, front aprons shock towers and rails are really nice battery tray apron needs replace, floor supports rear rails and torque boxes nice, will just need floor pan only, rear quarters and and fenders need replace as seen in pics, car came with o.e. parts for front, headlamp buckets and grille assembly also it had a new radiator in the box although this radiator seems fine no leaks and its date coded so I would keep that. I'm guessing they put the car away when the front fender got hit and had plans to fix but it never happened, damage is to fender only the inner apron is fine.
Perfect restoration candidate especially with 66 parts being so cheap with outstanding availability... and it runs. It's not often you get them complete never taken apart and never been worked on by a million people. Plus factory air and center console with white vinyl top, power steering, will make this one stand out at shows.
