Car description

Just a neat old pickup? Guess again! Someone pulled out all the stops on this 1952 Ford F-1, giving it a traditional look with plenty of vintage horsepower compliments of a Chevy small block, slick-shifting automatic transmission, and a great 1950s look. If you appreciate performance hidden inside an old-school truck, this Ford is for you! At first glance, this handsome pickup has just the right vintage look to be charming. You don't expect it to be fast, not with... looks like that, but it will bring a smile to everyone's face when they see it ambling down the road. The freshened Ford face would become one of the most popular vehicles in history, and despite thousands of dollars' worth of work, this one retains its commercial good looks with modest trim and gorgeous bright blue paint. It's quite straight, suggesting that this one was tasked with light-duty work all its life, and when it was freshened someone took their time to get it right, because this sucker is awfully nice. The fat fenders look awesome crouching over the modern rolling stock, the original hood and doors fit quite nicely, and the bed has been filled with wood planks that lend it a rustic feel. There's a custom rear roll pan with four taillights out back, so it's easy to spot on the roll, but the rest is quite traditional. There's not much inside that hasn't been seriously reworked. The bucket seats look right at home and come from a late-model F150 so they're comfortable and easy to adjust. The dash is original, but the gauges inside are modern Faria units that were neatly integrated into the design. A tilt column features an American Racing wheel with a fat rim and the floor-mounted shifter is linked to a TH350 3-speed automatic, so this little pickup is quite easy to drive. All the wiring is new, and aftermarket turn signals were added, since in 1952 they were still not standard equipment on pickup trucks. A Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo provides entertainment, although you may not need it with the way this one dances on the road. It's got a nice look, don't you think? The engine is a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 tucked down low in the engine bay so it almost looks authentic. The result it a torque factory that moves this pickup like a modern muscle car. It's a nice touch to see that it was painted the same corporate turquoise as the original flathead V8, although the Edelbrock intake manifold, 4-barrel carburetor, and chrome air cleaner suggest there's a bit more horsepower on tap. Service access is quite good and the simple hardware makes this truck bulletproof out on the road. The chassis incorporates a Mustang II front suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, and a lowered suspension that rides surprisingly well. The exhaust system is just about right, with a burbling exhaust note complements of a set of glasspack-style mufflers. Familiar Torque Thrust wheels look exactly right and they're wrapped in staggered 15-inch radials to give it a bit of a rake. Nicely built but fully sorted, this is the kind of truck that's welcome just about everywhere it goes. With only about 5000 miles on the build, it's ready to cruise right now. Call today!
