Car description

~~~~~~~No Reserve~~~~~~
1963 FORD THUNDERBIRD LANDAU SPECIAL EDITION PRINCIPALITY OF MONACO #1825. This car is currently in a storage facility, so just to let the winning bidder know, that it will take a little bit of time to get it out due to other cars being parked in the way. Pictures listed on here are also from before it went into storage right before winter, and with that being said, this car has a 390 V8 with an automatic transmission with 11,408 miles on the odometer, note mileage might not be actual, because the motor has been gone through by previous owner. I am currently the 3rd owner of this t-bird. The car was not driven much by the 2nd owner. It was in running and driving condition before entering storage in the fall (battery might need recharged when getting out of storage). There was an exhaust leak on the passengers side manifold and there was a light drip of trans fluid starting last year (probably a seal from sitting). Most of the pictures should explain the car, but the headliner does have a couple of holes in it and the lower seat will need re-upholstered as well. The rear bumper has some chrome peeling off of it. As for the stuff that doesn't look correct, the first owner did not like the rose colored stuff on the car and had the dash dyed (you can see the rose underneath the black in the pictures). The seats, carpet and vinyl top were changed to black as well. This car has air conditioning but it is not currently charged (compressor is free) but it is not working. The car was also equipped with power breaks, power steering (works great), power seats in both sides (I do not remember if the passenger side worked or not?) It also has vacuum powered locks (cool feature), power windows (all work but rears were slow), radio does have a AM/FM and it works great! If you have any questions regarding my car please feel free to ask me or ask for my number to call me with any questions.
If there is a winning buyer I will get the Thunderbird out of storage and get it cleaned up and ready to ship or to be pickup after the end of auction. Thanks and Happy bidding!
some extra info about the cars history...... This is one of those odd,Limited Edition Automobilesthat onlya crazedFord NutorThunderbird Aficionadomight be aware Ford ever evenofferedon the marketplace.Only 2,000 of these unique cars were built. Introduced, in the Spring of 1963 ( Ford traditionally introduces new models in September), they instantly became known, by popular showroom vernacular, as the"Princess Monaco T-Bird". Like the actual Movie Star, who met Prince Ranier the same year that the Thunderbird was born (1955), everyone in America was aware of this new Beautiful, Graceful Automobile offered by Ford Motor Company. Grace Kelly, who starred in a string of box-office hits (High Noon, Dial M for Murder, Rear Window and Country Girl) was critically acclaimed, and even won an Oscar forBest Actress. A Real Life Fairy Tale come true... this stunning actress married the Prince of Monaco in Monte Carlo April 1956. It was touted by the Press worldwide as " The Wedding of the Century". It was her ( or Ford's?) good fortune to be immediately associated with this great car. Ford, in their infinite wisdom, dedicated this car " to the same style, grace, serene beauty, yet smoldering performance" befitting any Prince or Princess that chose (to "pony up for the bucks") and get behind the wheel. History claims that Ford even gave one of the Limited Edition Bird's to Prince Ranier himself. Back then, when this car was introduced, dealers couldn't fill the orders fast enough. As it turns out, Ford built 42,806 'Standard' Thunderbird Coupes in 1963, however,only 14,139 had the optional Landau Coupe bodywith the 63B nomenclature on the Trim Tag.Of those, only 2,000 were the Special EditionPrincipality of MonacoThunderbirds.Despite what the Krause Publication Ford Catalog states: each were built inCorinthian White(not, "onlyw/ Maroon Exterior") and had White Leather or Vinyl Bucket Seats, White Steering Wheel, and Dark Rose Colored Long Grain Vinyl Tops. Each carried Special "Knock-Off" Spinner Hubcaps ( they didn't actually 'knock-off'), Gold Piping on the Seats, Gold Inserts on the Hubcaps and the Rim of the Steering Wheel. Plus, each car featured the "S"Landau Baron the side of the Hardtop, a Special Badge emblazzoned with the Crest of Monaco on the dash with number built (1 to 2,000). They also were accented with Simulated Rosewood Accents on the Dash and Door panels (instead of Walnut or Ribbed Metal of the Convertible). This special model cost an amazing $200 more than the 'regular', standard issue Bird and had a base price of $4,748. The '63 Birds all came Standard with a single exhaust 390/300 horse "Z" Code V8 but, a few were equipped with the "Thunderbird Special"; dual exhaust ', and larger Holley Carb which produced 330 h.p. (also trim stamped 'Z' Code).There are several different versions of fact but, some books even claim a "M" Code 390 /340 h.p. version available with Triple Carburetion for the Monaco however, the majority of the publications state this motor wasonly availableon the 76B Series Thunderbird Sports Roadster.
