Well, if you have been shaking your head yes then this beautifulBurnt Amber '67Pony Convertible could be the one you have been waiting for!!

This beautiful Burnt Amber '67 Mustang Convertible arrived to me recently after having spent the past 30 years with the same owner in Wisconsin who bought it in 1987. Do not be concerned that this car lived so long in Wisconsin!!! This is truly one of those rare finds that was originally sold in Palm Springs, CA after it was produced in the San Jose, CA plant. When the gentleman I bought it from located it in California, the car had just under 87,000 miles and was in fantastic condition and completely rust free as one would expect from a well cared for California classic. He wanted to make sure this car would remain rust free storing it in his climate controlled garage and never drove it in the winter months. It was only used on sunny spring/summer days mostly for short drives or to local shows or parades. He absolutely loved this car and in 2003 decided to treat her to a beautiful restoration in her original colors. After the restoration he only drove the car another 3000 miles or so and it now has just under 102,000 original miles. He and his wife are downsizing and unfortunately their new home does not have the extra garage space so it was time to let the next lucky owner enjoy "Amber".....maybe that person will be you???!!As you will see in the photo tour below this Mustang looks like it could have been restored a month ago. Make sure you check out the undercarriage to see how nice theoriginal California floorpans still look.
In addition to being a fairly rare original color combination, this '67 Pony Convertible also comes with a great combination of options. It is an A-code 289 V8 4bbl mated to an automatic transmission with power steering, power front disc brakes, power top, and factory air conditioning. It was also ordered with the Sports Sprint option package which was a nice combination of trim items and only offered in 1967 and part of 1968. The MARTI report shows this car to be 1 of 559 ordered in these colors with these options.
I will do my best to provide enough large images, a video of the car running, and an honest description to help you decide if this stunning classic Mustang is the one for you. As with all of my classics I do have this car listed on my website and several others. If you decide you want to scoop this beauty up before the next car guy or gal does feel free to call me to discuss how we can make that happen. I am also a transport broker and can get you great rates on Enclosed transport anywhere in the country and I also welcome overseas buyers and can assist in getting this car to the port of your choice. Sit back and enjoy!!!

As I mentioned, this stallion was treated to a professional restoration in 2003. The body was completely disassembled, sanded down and prepped correctly to assure the body was laser straight and then treated to a high end base coat/clear coat paint job in the original Burnt Amber color. Of course it was wet sanded and buffed upon completion. The paint quality can best be described as show quality although I rarely use that phrase since everyone has a difference of opinion on what constitutes a show quality paint job. Keeping in mind that this car was painted 14 years ago I believe the next lucky owner will be absolutely thrilled with the quality of the paint and body. The body panels are extremely straight and body panel fit is excellent! This car appears to be wearing all of its original, rust free body panels. I would say the body is near flawless but again I am sure there may be something I may have missed that the pickiest of buyers may see on close inspection. The only thing I noticed was a extremely tiny bubble on the bottom corner of the passenger door that most people would never see. I did not notice any rock chips but again, possible I may have missed something extremely small. All of the chrome trim appears to have been replaced and look fantastic. Part of the Sports Sprint package included rocker panel moldings, wheel well moldings and chrome trim around the trunk area which all really dress this Pony up nicely. All of the glass is in great shape and windows roll up and down nicely. It appears that all of the weather stripping was also replaced at the time of restoration and still looks great. This car also has the deluxe hood with turn signals integrated which is very nice looking. You will also notice the GT style dual exhaust that was added at some point. Overall the paint and body are truly fantastic and this car will win its share of trophies if that is what you enjoy. I think the photo tour of the body will show you how nice it is.

While I hope the next lucky new owner of this Burnt Amber beauty will enjoy her with the top down as much as possible it is also nice to know that the White convertible top is also in fantastic condition. It is a power top and operates smoothly and latches down and seals nicely. It has the split glass rear window and if you are familiar with these you know that the silicon gasket seal between the 2 pieces of glass almost always splits as it has on this one. It can probably be repaired if desired but the top itself is in fantastic condition with no signs of wear. When the top is down there is a great looking saddle colored boot coverer a nice finished look. The white convertible top is really a nice compliment to the Burnt amber body color and this Mustang does look really sharp with the top up as well. Check it out:

Complimenting the rare Burnt Amber exterior is a very classy saddle colored interior. Again, this is the original color combination!! At the time of restoration the seats were recovered and new carpeting was installed. As you will see the interior looks fantastic with virtually no sign of wear. Door panels also look great and the dash pad looks like it was replaced at time of restoration as well. This Mustang has a great original center console and an aftermarket am/fm/cassette was added probably back in the 80's. One item this car originally came with is not currently installed. It originally had a tilt away steering wheel but at the time of restoration it was not working and needed to be rebuilt so a stock column was installed in its place. I do however have the original column if the next owner would like it. The deluxe steering wheel is in great shape for its age with just a few minor cracks that are very typical. Gauge cluster and dash looks great. This Mustang was ordered with the clock in the dash but it is not currently working. This Pony was also equipped with factory air conditioning which has been serviced over the years and the compressor was replaced. It currently feels like it could use a good charging to blow cold. All of the other lights and gauges appear to be working correctly. The only item not working currently are the hood mounted turn signals which we are looking in to and will try to have working before the car leaves if possible. A nice set of Pony floor mats finishes out the interior nicely. Again, the interior is very show worthy and the saddle color is a refreshing and period correct color that is not seen very often. Have a look inside:
This '67 Mustang not only looks great but is also a great running, easy to drive classic. Open the hood and you will find the original A-cocde 289 V8 4bbl motor nicely detailed for show purposes. I was told the motor was rebuilt prior to the time of restoration however the file full of receipts did not include anything about the motor rebuild. The motor runs strong and smooth with no concerns. It is mated to the original C-4 Automatic transmission that was I told was also rebuilt when the motor was rebuilt. It shifts smoothly. The motor breathes out the stock manifolds and back through a newer dual exhaust system with resonator so it is fairly quiet. This '67 is a breeze to handle thanks to the power steering and power front disc brakes. New front and rear shocks and springs were installed about 5000 miles ago. This Mustang is a joy to drive and seems to run nice and cool with no overheating issues. You will also notice that the original wheels and hubcaps were upgraded to a great looking set of Styled Steel wheels wrapped in a great set of White Wall Radial tires with tons of tread life left. Make sure you watch the video that follows to hear this Pony start up and running!!
They say a quality classic car starts from the undercarriage and I agree with that. This California born Classic Mustang has an outstanding, original undercarriage. Take a look at the original floorpans and torque boxes in the pics below. We wiped down the light coat of black paint in some areas revealing the original red oxide primer. You can see the original drip marks on the rock solid, rust free, floor pans which occurred because these were dipped in a red oxide primer and the drips occurred when they rolled down the assembly line. Frame rails look great and are not bent up from amateur floor jacks like so many. Inside of the trunk also looks great with correct trunk mat and spare tire with cover. There is also a custom fitted car cover that will go with the car. Check it out:
As you will see on the MARTI report below this Burnt Amber '67 Convertible is quite the rare car. Of course the original door trim tag matches and the original vin # stamping is still visible on the inner drivers fender apron. I do have a folder full of receipts from the previous owner documenting the maintenance history and restoration work.
