1979 Ford F100 Custom Truck Standard Cab Long Bed 351 Windsor No Reserve

Up for sale is a 1979 Ford F100 Custom Truck. I bought it in Terre Haute, Indiana in April of 2013 to pull my '57 Chevy and belongings to Kingland, Georgia to move. It did a marvelous job through the mountains and since it has two tanks, gas stations weren't needed much. I have driven it only a handful of times since the move, so now it just sits and is not used much. Therefore it is for sale because we are expecting another baby and we already have two other cars. I am the third owner of the truck. Andy Rowe had the truck for 18 years and bought it from the original owner who had it for 18 years. Andy sold it to me. Andy had told me the truck has been Ziebarted? I guess that means the panels were filled and sealed for rust purposes. The truck does have some rust spots, but is in surprisingly good shape. The truck had the heavy duty tow package and trailer brakes from the factory with the ford 9" rear. He also told me that the most important thing the transmission has is the Jasper Conversion. He was proud of that and the oil and the transmission has coolers on it. The cruise control works fine. The engine does not leak any oil that I can see. The problem the truck has now, and I've been told that it needs a carbureator rebuild, is it won't start without priming the carb with a bit of fuel. Once it starts it runs just fine. I did notice a year ago when it was over 100 degrees outside, that once I ran it around town and stopped the engine, the engine didn't want to immediately fire right up. I primed a bit of gasoline in the carb and sure enough, it runs again just fine. The engine, trans and rear are very strong and in good condition. The enterior is in good condition. It had a lock for the hood latch that was drilled out long ago, so a strap holds it down for safety. The hood will shut, but if it does, a pair of vice grips must be used to pull the cable from inside the cab. I just left the strap on. There is a new cylinder key assembly in the glove box that I never installed, used a screw driver to start it, just as Andy did. I bought a new battery for it in May of this year I believe. I also bought 4 tires for it in Jacksonville in May as well. Power steering works wonderful. The driver floorboard has rusted through a bit, I just never pulled up the carpet to check it further. There is surface rust on the underbody, but nothing serious I see. It has a nice bed liner and bed cover on it. I have mainly just used the truck for the storage of lawn and garden tools in the bed area next to the house. The trucks nickname is "Brownie". Andy was a good friend of my families and passed away two years ago. The truck holds some sentimental value to me and the family, but it is time to pass it on to someone who will take care of it. My family is getting larger and so the truck has to go. I've never sold a truck on ebay here and will only release the truck and title if the money is in hand or in the bank and totally clear, I will not accept a check of any kind. If it is the weekend and Navy Federal Credit Union, my bank is closed and you want to pay by wire transfer or whatever and take the truck, just know, you will wait till Monday, so we are with the branch manager, until the money is cleared, then get the truck. I just do not trust the many scammers out there, so cash is king and simple. So the Payment Types are: Cash in person, Certified Funds, Institutional Financing. I am listing the truck with a low starting price, I would suggest you come look at the truck before bidding, to make sure the truck is right for you. I do not know much about the mechanics and the fixing of cars, but all in all, this is a good truck that needs the carb worked on, to make it very dependable. If the very low starting price is not met, I will buy the carb rebuild kit for $20 here on ebay and also install a new fuel filter and mech fuel pump, the truck will start perfect then, but the price will go up substantially. This truck will do 500 miles on both tanks full. It has one of the best engines Ford made and the trans and rearend are very strong. By the way, this as a '79 was the last year of this body style and the square glass headlights, if you've been paying attention, these trucks are getting more and more valuable, since ford is redoing the Bronco after these years. The Full 8' bed is something you don't see that much on the road these days. Please consider buying this truck for your own. Thank you and good luck bidding.
Important to note: This truck has not been modified at all. The original seats, dash radio, engine, trans, rear, rims even the hubcaps are original. It is rare to find an unmodified 70's Ford that someone has not messed around with. Thank you.
Additional Info: A helpful person from ebay messaged me and we talked about the carb leaking fuel from the front of the accelerator pump, he said is is caused by a ruptured diaphram which is included in a carb rebuild kit. Soft metal plugs in the carb,could have loosened as well. That seems to be the cause of the issue of priming the carb and the leaking of fuel from the carb. Thank you Ryan for the messages.
