1962 FORD THUNDERBIRD - BARN FIND!!!
Barn find from Altus, Oklahoma. Older gentlemen collected T-birds and had more than 20 in his barn. He passed away 18 years ago and the vehicles had been sitting since. My father and I bought four from the collection, and this is one of the offerings. I have two more currently listed.
This 1962 white coupe is in need of total restoration. The true miles are unknown, but I have registration records dating back to 1979. The motor turns freely, as well do the wheels. We were able to add gas, a jump box and oil and the motor turned over. However the fuel tank is rusted and will not hold gas. THE VEHICLE WILL NEED TO BE TOWED.
We cleaned the body and chrome and they are both in nice shape with minimal pitting and surface rust. The is some rust in the passenger side of the trunk that has gone through the metal. Q-ring seals are good as well as the headlight seals. All panels and chrome pieces are present as far as I can tell.
As far as options, this bird has no A/C, but it does have power windows, and the slide away steering wheel. It does have the wheel skirts and all four wheel covers.
This 62 presents well already and just needs someone to change the hoses and begin the mechanical work. I did the same to a 1965 from the same collection that I will be selling as well.
